Ecologists often worry about data being normally distributed, and use nonparametric methods instead. Turns out normality tests are often done incorrectly (on raw data, not resids!!) but ... it's OK? Doing nonparametric tests instead of LMs changes the results very little. tinyurl.com/367zrrbb
