It was amazing. Some I only caught in soundchecks as I was helping in the chaos backstage, but they were phenomenal

A lovely morning talking to a group of sixth form students who are interested in teacher training. (I just had to integrate some hands on activities!) #edusky #outdoorlearning

It's been really nice to get involved with enrichment at my new school. Already been to some home softball fixtures, and tomorrow is our performing arts showcase. Really looking forward to it, even if it's a 13 hour day 😅 Other Maths teachers, what's your favourite enrichment to get involved in?

Hey folks. Slightly terrifying but maybe exciting news...I have a Patreon! If you fancy following for free for any updates, or want to browse to order some CPD, then it's patreon.com/JWrightMaths It may go somewhere, it may not, but I've done it now. Thanks/AAH

My thoughts on integrating manipulatives rather than seeing it as a magic bullet. open.substack.com/pub/fantasti...

If @catrionaagg.bsky.social 's going to start making puzzles again then we'd better have a feed for them. bsky.app/profile/did:... #geometrypuzzle #mathsky #UKMathsChat #ITeachMath (Hope I've made it right ... let me know if not!)

Solving one problem in multiple ways has turned out to be quite an effective way to convince Y8 to write down their reasons. #MathsToday

This just arrived.

My first proper #MathsToday since moving schools! Had some great small group intervention lessons today, including building someone up from being hesitant about adding fractions, to being able to do a full mixed number addition, including converting both ways! Love the sequencing of that topic 😁

Question from 8yo: How do you say 1/32 of something out loud? #tmwyk

🚨 Absolutely MEGA resource drop! 🚨 We hope you're having a lovely half term - and to make it even better, we’ve got 16 brand new resources ready for you when you're back! 🎉 There are so many, we couldn’t even fit them all on one page! 👀👇 buff.ly/gKqrLcT

Time constraints (will fix it up over the summer), but my provisional display boards! 🥳 First time I've had to curate my own in about 5 years! 😝 #MathsToday #EduSky

My latest blog about the teaching of order of operations, and how we can do much better (with a catchy video introduction - unmute if you want the music!) educatingmrmattock.blogspot.com/2025/05/ever... #maths #mathsteacher

Great questions on indices from Maths HKO, really getting students to think deeply #mathstoday

@blatherwicksam.bsky.social I’ve written my take on what multiplication using the area model could look like as a continuous journey. open.substack.com/pub/fantasti...

VACANCY to work in our lovely team. Full time, permanent Maths teacher needed from September. Details via link below. I also need a 0.6 temporary one term (KS3 only) from Easter if anyone is on the lookout for something to tide them over. www.king-james.co.uk/job/teacher-...

In a 1-1 session my student said, ‘This would be beautiful if it had brackets’. 🤣 💛 #MathsToday

Think I just misread 'ever' as 'never' in today's @teachertapp.bsky.social They're gonna think I'm unhinged 😂

In #MathsToday whilst on a school visit, I had very interesting discussions with: ➡️ a child about - Which would you rather have, 1/2 or 2/4 of an amount? Involved lots of manipulation with unit cubes. ➡️ the MathsLead about - exterior angles in a polygon.

In #MathsToday I had 3 year 12's describe differentiating from first principles as 'fun'! I only picked this class up 3 weeks ago, their genuine enjoyment of learning maths is so refreshing, really looking forward to their lessons. #AlevelMaths

Oh I actually love this! 💗✨ Would be an excellent starter question in a classroom: “what do these pictures tell us about the square and the rhombus” #MathsToday ♾️ 🧮

In #mathstoday Y9 explored unit ratio where the numbers started as values less than 1. Sure we can divide by that number but is there an alternative?
