I don't forget how my mom is the most wonderful hero. She made it across boundaries and everything to give me what was a safer life away from the horrors she rescued me from in Guatemala as the civil war + genocide waned. I'm not alone, I know. Many immigrants have had to deal with this constant horror, which is the immigration system, in the most violent manner sometimes. It's constantly traumatizing and tiring for us. I'm not sorry to say I won't ever accept that again no matter who runs the show- even with AOC.

ICE is brutal, cruel, and uncaring. I know all too well the brutality having witnessed it first hand long ago, and I refuse to accept a return back to normal ever again. The entire system is violent and deadly to Black and brown immigrants under either party. I saw it in 2013 and 2018.
