The man who appointed Elon Musk to run DOGE just said: "The days of being ruled by unelected bureaucrats are over."

Earthquake blue sky let’s gooooo

They screwed this all up.

Evil

I’ve read this script. It’s phenomenal

Ok man, I’ll tell them

Boots on the ground in Texas and honestly? Nobody is happy with what this dumbass bitch is prioritizing

Finding myself asking myself a lot of nauseating questions I’d once have laughed off as paranoid. Cheerful stuff like “what sort of orders is the military ultimately prepared to follow if the president finally abandons the pretense of operating under law?”

I don’t have to make “a recipe” every night, okay? This isn’t television’s The Bear over here.

The way forward is the same as it’s always been - organize your neighborhood, your household, your workplace. Nobody is coming to save us except ourselves. Look out for one another.

They didn’t have to drag him out of bed.

Yo Covid sucks how come no one told me

Over the last five days, we’ve been witnessing remarkable, even miraculous mutual aid happening all over the city of Los Angeles—but esp. Altadena—, done by ordinary Angelenos, some also fire victims, who care deeply about their city and it’s ppl. We’ve shared those experiences here. Take a look—

My dearest Luigi

Thank god nothing else is going on and our elected officials can focus on what really matters 🙏

NO I DIDNT OK A LOT IS GOING ON

Cool to know if 9/11 happened today it would be “New York should’ve terrorist proofed their buildings” The Republican Party has fallen so far. It’s disgusting.

Hey I cried at Fight Song I’m going to the hospital.

How is some bitch ass glass of milk from a snow globe state gonna tell us how to handle anything let alone a fire shut up

Firefighters from Mexico arriving in Los Angeles to help out their neighbors.

Starting to think…this didn’t work.

A good way to find out how disgusting your hotel is is to lose a cat in one

I’m really proud of LA. Los Angeles has a reputation of being superficial & selfish. But when facing disaster, it’s a community of 3.8 million with connections around the world. Donations are overloaded & community-led support services are popping up everywhere. We survive together, always.

I've realized my current relationship w/ the fires mirrors my current relationship w/ the country, which is, "Danger is closer but I'm currently safe but just for now & I shouldn't assume I'll be fine but right now I'm safe & others aren't so I shouldn't make it about me but I'm scared for us all."

The city of Pasadena is asking homeowners to stop using leaf blowers in burned areas. Please just wait for FEMA cleanup. It’s not worth elevating your cancer risk trying to clean toxic debris without proper PPE and training!

1. Watching Fran, in the video below, talk about her home in Altadena broke me. The enormity of the loss in the LA area is hard to comprehend and is ongoing as the fires continue to expand and new ones pop up.

This is a terrible day for L.A. and for movie lovers. Bob Laemmle was one of the good guys, exhibiting hundreds of movies that would have had difficulty getting screened anywhere else. www.latimes.com/entertainmen...

Really? Couldn’t tell.

This visual from the BBC compares the size of the Palisades fire to NYC showing how it would essentially be like everything in Manhattan below 42nd street being on fire at the same time. And that's only one of the fires raging in LA. Terrifying. Please stay safe everyone: www.bbc.com/news/article...

After an emergency evac in 2023 I learned that "accepts pets" usually means "no cats" (and they *will* turn you away). A Bring Fido search with "cats allowed" checkbox can help but call ahead to validate. Link: www.bringfido.com/lodging/city... www.latimes.com/travel/story...

I can’t stop hugging my babies

BREAKING: The Pacific Palisades fire is now the most destructive in Los Angeles city history, with an estimated 1,000 structures destroyed. Follow AP's live coverage. apnews.com/live/live-up...

The Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades remains safe and intact this morning, January 8, and will be closed at least through early next week. While vegetation on the property has burned, Getty structures have been unaffected, and thankfully, both staff and collections are safe.

We’re 8 days in, 2025 like damn bitch take a breath.

Horrifying. This is mere miles away. Horrifying.

JESUS CHRIST

The bucket hat all night…

This was such an important moment in cinema
