4.25 ⭐️ This author is haunting in a way. I loved Klara and the Sun, but it haunts me still, and I think this book will stay with me too. Apart from a fascinating plot, I loved the way childhood relationships are explored. 📚💙

Turns out Spooner to Flume is closed as they do some construction on the dam at Marlette Lake, I had to ride the Tahoe Rim Trail instead to get to my destination. Never done it before because it’s not allowed, 🚲 🚫 😬 but I didn’t know what else to do since my bike route was closed! 🤷🏻‍♀️

What a lovely book to finish on Mother’s Day. This was a slow start for me, the magic/animal house had me a little skeptical. But oh my the depths of the themes in this book. I wish I could give this 5 stars! The main characters were just too “meh” for me. Even so, must read! 4.5 ⭐️ 📚💙
