I was a Marine and trained in counter-protest/riot operations. We were not trained to be nice, we were trained only to shut that shit down. Deploying Marines into LA is extremely dangerous, unnecessary, and should never be used on U.S. soil.

Damn, my own bot poached my image before I was able to post it 😆

Devers and the Red Sox are beating up on the Yankees. Love to see it!

folks I've been tear gassed something like 200 times and maced at least fifty or so times. once i was soaked in mace to my underwear. ignore any neat scientific tricks people give you for beating this stuff -Water for tear gas -sudecon wipes for mace -if no sudecon, wash mace with water

A fantastic view from the Mars Curiosity Rover using ChemCam looking towards the distant Yardang Unit. Taken this week on Sol 4562. flic.kr/p/2r9tnDZ

That little shadow to the left is from Jupiter’s small moon Amalthea.

Searching for a bedrock drill site in the Boxworks area: Two MAHLI close up images of a potential drilling location in boxwork bedrock. Nice flat red rock with white mineral veins passing though. Images taken by the Mars Curiosity Rover on Sol 4561. flic.kr/p/2r9bhzo flic.kr/p/2r9bhzD

Serpentinite is the state rock of California. True to form, I found some walking into JPL this morning.

Augite? Some kind of green agate? It’s pretty crumbly and was found among basalt/andesitic lavas. What am I dealing with here?

Closeup MAHLI inspection of mineral-filled rock fractures. Area pre-cleared of dust with the DRT brush. Taken by the Mars Curiosity Rover on Sol 4559. flic.kr/p/2r8V21b

Sol 4558 MastCam mosaic of an area near the Mars Curiosity Rover this weekend. The shadow is from the outstretched arm. I’m also wondering what’s going on with that little oval spot… flic.kr/p/2r8FBa2

The only season I’m paying for mlb.tv until they get rid of the ridiculous blackouts 😖 @mlb.com

Just about wrecked myself going up this hill with Libby. Google Earth was not clear as to how steep this place is! I fell and slid down the path a few feet (I’m fine). Libby’s an athlete and did great. We did a load of research and found a fantastic rockhounding spot in Agua Dulce.

Mastcam mosaic captured by Curiosity two days ago - centered on the “Mishe Mokwa” hill, if I understand correctly. Also showing the lighter colored yardang unit further up Aeolis Mons. #Mars May 29, 2025 - Sol 4554 🧪🔭 Credits images: NASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS/fredk
