A huge step from HHS that is at odds with science showing significant risks for young children and pregnant women — and that directly contradicts *the FDA's own publication* from last week listing pregnancy as a high-risk condition that would qualify people for this fall's Covid vaccine

Important read. Nerve-wracking but important to be aware.

🤷🏼‍♂️

Rosen to Rubio: "I'm not even mad anymore about your complicity in this administration's destruction of US global leadership. I'm simply disappointed. And I wonder if your proud of yourself in this moment when you go home to your family ... I know you know this in your heart."

This is the correct way to think about Dems approach to all future elections. Stop trending toward the mean and just mean what you say. That will resonate with more people every time. And in the immediate cycle everything needs to point to how willing you are to fight back to protect democracy.

WATCH: @aoc.bsky.social explains how the Republican bill will: - Gut Medicaid - Increase premiums for private health insurance - Force rural hospitals to close All to give a giant tax handout to billionaires.

It is bracing to reread the Framers’ bone-deep fears about foreign corruption of the presidency and realize Trump is exactly what they were trying to prevent. slate.com/news-and-pol...

🧵 NY-17 Rep. Mike Lawler had a local social worker physically dragged out of his town hall Sunday night. Emily Feiner was singled out by private security, lifted out of her seat, as the crowd chanted “let her stay” and “shame, shame.” She’s a constituent. Not a threat. Fascism again.

One of the many great signs out at today's rally in Torrance @maddow.msnbc.com

Another strong turnout for today's protest in Torrance CA! Well into the thousands. Thanks to @reptedlieu.bsky.social for the inspirational words for the crowd and for the work you are doing to protect democracy and hold the administration accountable!

Every factory on earth, except those located in the United States, can get the inputs they need from China, without paying an additional 145 percent markup.

University leaders need to understand: they are holding INCREDIBLY good cards. It is so rare in today's polarized era to have the support of 70+ percent of the public against the Trump admiministration on anything. Universities have that—AND winning legal arguments.

Al gore is pissed off and I’m here for it

Here is a letter from NYU Law faculty opposing the Trump Administration's unlawful attacks on universities, law firms, and the rule of law. Please share widely. drive.google.com/file/d/1yysJ...

The great thing about fighting back against this stuff is that if you end up losing anyway you get the same outcome you’d have gotten from complying but you don’t have to fucking hate yourself too.

Here is how WaPo handled Dem's 10-day long effort to count every vote in PA vs. GOP's 5-month long effort to throw out thousands of votes in NC. Support independent, pro-democracy media.

Historians are calling the SAVE Act the "most extraordinary attack on voting rights in American history."

Under this bill, my own 80 year old mother, who was an elected City Clerk for 20 years, would not be able to register to vote. She doesn't have a current passport, changed her name when she married, and her current last name does not appear on her birth certificate. This is 100% voter suppression.

Total federal spending is up +8% in 2025 year-to-date on April 9 over 2024. The illusion that the fed govt is tightening its belt is contradicted by its own real-time expenditure data. Admin spectacularly hammering some things but raising spending elsewhere. Was -7% just after Inauguration Day.

This voter suppression bill is based on a false premise...and is a serious problem. 1 in 10 voting age Americans don't have a proof-of-citizenship document or access to one (21 million). Married women who changed their names don't have birth certificates that match their current name (69 million).

I think the Supreme Court got the law badly wrong tonight. But beyond that, it’s just incredibly ominous that Roberts would throw Boasberg under the bus and hand Trump this big win when his administration has conducted this case in EXTREME bad faith from the start. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Hands Off! South Bay event in Torrance, CA. Estimated turnout was over 10K and the crowd was pumped up!!

"I understand many of you aren’t familiar with dignified transfers and why what Trump has done here is so disgusting and unbecoming and insulting to the memories of these soldiers... so, I'll explain." charlotteclymer.substack.com/p/trump-pick...

"When investigators in the field confronted a potentially life-threatening contamination that compromised drug sterility, Pohlhaus was the person they would call. He’s the one who helped them gather evidence that could halt dangerous manufacturing or shut down a pipeline of compromised products."

Closely inspecting the list of tariffs/countries posted by the White House, Trump did not put tariffs on Russia. Ukraine's tariff is 10%, the EU's is 20%, and every American ally is on the list. But not Russia.

@booker.senate.gov that was impressive and inspiring!!!!! Thank you!

I'm attending my local event on Saturday and I hope many others do the same. We need to speak up if we disagree. Separate, we are all just pissed off but together our voices will have a real impact.

As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies. The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits. Maybe it's not the judges?

Now this is standing up for both your firm and the law.

Witkoff was a fool for joining that chat from Moscow. But the entire charlatan national security team also chose to put him on that chat when they knew (or should have known) that he was in Moscow. A spy novel based on this level of cretinous behavior would be unbelievable.

I’m old enough to remember when Secretary Hegseth tried to publicly mock Judge Reyes—suggesting that she didn’t know what she was doing when it comes to protecting our national security. It was … two days ago.

I haven't ever really spoken about this to anyone, but when I was litigating the so-called "comfort women" case, I went to the National Archives to obtain and read the testimonies of women and girls who were held in sex slave camps by the Japanese military following their release. 1/

So look at that. DOGE has cost the US Treasury fucking half a trillion dollars. HALF A TRILLION DOLLARS. This is your cost savings.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back. This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008. Also bigger than the 2024 DNC. And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.
