Disabled Labour MP says welfare U-turn would create ‘unethical two-tier system’ Olivia Blake dismisses Starmer’s welfare bill changes as ‘plucked from the air’ and urges rebels to stand firm www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

In other news, I spoke with @xtramagazine.com about how lesbian communities have responded to the UK transphobia, and the importance of solidarity and collective action in the face of state-mandated persecution. Hope lies with Dyke News, with Dyke Pride, and with the Lesbian Avengers!

We had free dentists, free education, nationalised energy, water and rail, masses of social housing, EU benefits and the NHS. All of this has been taken from you so the rich can rip you off.

No it was because it was right wing.

Rod Stewart "We need to give Nigel Farage a chance." No, we need to stop electing clowns that the billionaire Media and the rich love because they know they won't tax them.

The EHRC has spent about 1/3 of its existence fussing about trans people and trying very hard - and usually illegally - to remove our human rights, yet there has NEVER been a trans commissioner, while there have been plenty of “gender critical” ones…

The GCs have outed Mary-Ann Stephenson as a “gender-critical”. They have also praised Starmer for choosing her. This individual is consequently completely unsuited to being head of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission.

Real dark stuff going on in Hungary as the gov bans Pride and then organises a far right hate march on the same place and day as Pride was scheduled I know a lot of people are going in defiance. Please stay safe LGBT rights is one of THE frontlines against fascism today telex.hu/belfold/2025...

The Telegraph is concerned.

The Guardian didn’t report on the mass lobby of parliament but has reported on this…

Along with our friends at @transactualuk.bsky.social, @transsafety.network, @scottishtrans.bsky.social and @networkgender.bsky.social - we are urging the Council of Europe to investigate and report on the state of trans human rights in the UK. Read more 🗞️ www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

A sure-fire way to make disabled people’s health conditions worse, is to put them in a situation where they’re constantly worrying, stressed, and anxious about surviving financially…

Clips of our mass lobby 💖

Snowflake.

“Until our government remembers it isn’t a private security firm for the oil and gas industry, recognises the important right to protest, and stops jailing peaceful climate activists, we should be suspended from the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative.” www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

They're just televising the construction of concentration camps like it's a good thing. This is unimaginably dark.

Starmer is a charlatan devoid of principles or decency. The only values he appears to have involve hurting the weak, grovelling to the rich and powerful and silencing dissent. He is dangerous, amoral and unfit to lead My column in @heraldscotland.bsky.social www.heraldscotland.com/politics/vie...

I have PIP and a full-time job. I would not have a full-time job without PIP

Looks like we will be treated to the shoddy spectacle next week of rebellious Labour MPs being bought off, and voting in favour of hurting vulnerable people and people with disabilities because only new claimants will be hurt. That's still not ok. How can you have a 2-tier regime for disability?!

Less than a third of the public supports the cuts. 45% of benefits recipients expecting themselves to be less healthy if their benefits reduced or removed. 49% of the public say that cutting benefits will make the health of Disabled people worse. www.disabilityrightsuk.org/news/public-...

It’s not that Starmer is swayed by evil advisers, it’s that he’s utterly empty. There’s nothing there. He could still be weak and not be in hock to the Labour Right, but then he would never have got selected at all

This was an appalling case - and, although I'm pleased two officers were found to have committed gross misconduct I can't understand the conclusion that race, the 'adultification' of Black children, was not a factor. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

I’m on @todayinfocus.bsky.social podcast talking about my new book, Who Wants Normal?, the “million inequalities” still facing disabled people in the U.K. and why Labour’s cuts mean a positive narrative around disability is more important than ever. Listen here: www.theguardian.com/p/x2t9a6?CMP...

Get your cis friends to read this. It reveals how the anti-trans hate groups are really part of a web of extremist right-wing hate groups…

Andrea Dworkin pointed out the irony of being told men are women's natural protectors, when they are the biggest danger. Whether women are put on a pedestal or a pyre, it's the same old patriarchy. Men & women are not different species, men are not naturally superior to women.

I just want to make an observation. The biggest LGBTQIA+ mass lobby in history in the UK was organised by a Trans+ led org. With minimal funding. And a heap of volunteer energy. There are much more well funded LGBTQIA+ orgs that haven’t stepped up with this level of ambition.

Streeting banned puberty-blockers despite there being no evidence whatsoever that they are dangerous, and now plenty of evidence (including my own peer-reviewed research) that banning them is harmful. However… He enthusiastically promoted weight loss drugs however, and now people are being harmed

New slur just dropped in the Telegraph - the 'half and half'

#EHRC #SupremeCourt

Remember when Wes Streeting said that the unemployed were going to be given weight loss jabs to get them back to work? Well... www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

My research into the effects of the UK puberty-blocker ban was published only 10 days ago, it has already been viewed more than 7,000 times! www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

None of those newspapers (or the BBC) that gleefully ran stories when the EHRC gave trans people a shoeing will now report on the EHRC admitting they (and hence those stories) were wrong. Are those outlets craven - or dishonest? Thank goodness for the legal press. www.law360.com/articles/235...

"This appears to be gob smacking levels of complacency from the Prime Minister,” says Zack Polanski, Green party London Assembly Member who is currently running for leader of the Green party. "....with no real plan for the country to tackle inequality." novaramedia.com/2025/06/25/e...

I find the provision of third spaces as a “solution“ to banning trans people from bathrooms so offensive and dunno about y’all but im not gonna participate in my own segregation

They’re planning on building a detention center for migrants in the middle of the fetid swamps of Florida. If you think this is something new, the first internment camp they sent me and my family to in 1942 was a barbed wire prison called Rohwer. It was located in the swamps of Arkansas.

Fresh HOT new face, be accurate

Like every workplace, it seems Parliament is grappling with the negative consequences of the Supreme Court ruling and EHRC advice on sex and gender. Far from creating ‘clarity’, we are now seeing clearly that they are making day-to-day life difficult and humiliating for trans people. 🧵 ... 1/2

Labour has consciously made my life and the lives of all trans people in Britain more dangerous. Rather than stem trans hate, they have endorsed it. @bbcnews too. Knuckleheads now being encouraged to be vigilantes by JKR. The police do nothing. I have an awful feeling about the coming months.

Excellent piece of journalism this evening on @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social from @vicderbyshire.bsky.social. The British nuclear veterans deserve justice at last.

REMINDER: These are not normal days. If you're not OK, that's your humanity still working. Be encouraged. johnpavlovitz.substack.com/p/no-one-is-...

Labour. Protecting women and girls. Oh, wait...

Just days ago the Chair of the self-described "Great British Political Action Committee" was on GB News making these toxic comments about trans people. Now @hopenothate.org.uk has released a detailed report about the group & the grim track record of its members: hopenothate.org.uk/2025/06/23/m...

Please repost widely and remember this is not about compliance in advance, there will doubtless be plenty of opportunities to use the correct loos in an organized and safe way tomorrow (and to report having done so). This is about avoiding violence and ensuing media propaganda.

I'm not celebrating the upgrading of anti-LGBT hate crime laws. Nobody asked for this, it doesn't make us safer, and the bill is an absolute horrorshow offensive to civil liberties. And now it's used to fob us off and try and placate us while they strip our rights. Not buying it.

If you are not concerned by the proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation because you think it doesn’t impact you, you are wrong. This is an authoritarian abuse of power by the government & it curtails all of our civil liberties #r4today

It is IMO quite the achievement to have breached the upper limit of Labour MPs’ tolerance for being coerced and told they are dumb swine by vicious right wing cranks

🚨 All Labour MPs considering whether to vote for this amendment should read this briefing from ten organisations including Scope, Citizens Advice, Mind, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Trussell which sets out the latest evidence on the impact of these reforms www.ucpipbill.co.uk
