Join ‪@sfyimby.bsky.social & @scottwiener.bsky.social‬ for a Park Hang in Duboce Park this Sunday, 1-3 pm! Discuss housing, meet your neighbors, and celebrate #SB79. RSVP 👉 actionnetwork.org/events/sf-y...

25% of IE residents work outside of the region, making them supercommuters. We urgently need much better Metrolink service in the region - time to finish SCORE, #ElectrifyMetrolink, and pass SB 79 so more people can live near transit.

A refreshing take from my friend @laurafoote.bsky.social, and an acknowledgement that a lukewarm ally has completely turned their backs on the pro-housing movement and will face the consequences accordingly: inpractice.yimbyaction.org/p/we-endorse...

🚨 SANDAG wants to oppose SB 79 - a bill that would allow housing near transit! Their own plan calls for EXACTLY this, but they're protecting NIMBY cities instead of working folks who can't afford homes. Email [email protected] w/ comment before Friday's 9a meeting

CA High Speed Rail CEO Ian Choudri: "Major utilities not getting out of the way in time literally derailed the rail program." Let's fix this by passing #SB445, and get CA High Speed Rail moving! youtube.com/clip/Ugkx-Z8...

Brightline West is seeking its 3rd permit extension for its Las Vegas station and still has not started construction. Let's not pretend CA High Speed Rail is the only project to experience delays. Time to fix 3rd party permits with #SB445! www.8newsnow.com/news/local-n...

I'd be Gavin Newsom's strongest soldier if the mfer would just endorse SB 79 already

"She has declined to support some of the state’s most high-profile pro-development bills ... SB 423, which allows certain apartment buildings to avoid environmental review and this year’s SB 79, which is aimed at allowing denser development along major public transit corridors"

If you live in San Jose and want to see more housing / housing affordability, call State Senator Cortese’s office @ 408-723-4154 and tell him we want a pro-housing Senate leader. Cortese royally screwed up with SB79 (he was a no-show) and he needs to know that we’re paying attention.

UPDATE: senate offices have been surprised by how many calls there have been opposing Limon and her NIMBY policies! If you haven’t already, call your state senator and tell them to support Lena Gonzalez, the pro-housing candidate

If you live in California, call your state senator and tell them to oppose Monique Limon as senate pro tem because she’s a hardcore NIMBY who opposes rail electrification. They should support Lena Gonzalez instead, she’s the progressive pro-housing choice

If you live in Santa Barbara county, and want housing and rent prices to drop, then primary Monique Limón right now! And if you don’t, then call your current state Senator and ask them to vote for Lena Gonzalez!!! #TakeActionNow #SantaBarbara #California #YIMBY

Promising news item from Politico California Playbook. Limón as pro tem would make solving California's housing shortage even more difficult than it already is. If you live in the state, you might want to call your senator to ask who they support and request they back Gonzalez.

the white house thinks brute force is, no pun intended, a trump card. they don’t anticipate pushback and they don’t know how to handle it with anything other than escalation. the issue is that each escalation is itself a gamble. if protesters refuse to back down, you’ve lost face. (1/?)

I’ve been waiting to hear back from Sen. Blakespear on her no vote on #SB79 and have heard nothing back yet from her office. I’ve become very unimpressed with her ability to make any actual beneficial change.
