it's pretty damning when it's all laid out like this www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...

Fifteen minutes into January 1st of every year, Elon Musk stops paying into Social Security!. Everyday workers pay an astronomically higher rate than millionaires and billionaires. That’s the real abuse of the Social Security Administration — not the seniors getting $65 a day. youtu.be/1_LobSGGdvk

First of all, MAGA Murder Budget is great. Second, asking people which messages would be most persuasive to them is worse than useless. Human beings are terrible at reporting why they believe things!

This is idiotic. Republicans use hyperbolic rhetoric because it WORKS. People remember that shit. It's simple, it sticks, it's easily repeatable. Worry more about the fact that they FUCKING LIE. That's what needs to be countered.

Unironically they should buy up the domains for about 60 defunct local newspapers in swing states. Hire two reporters to write almost exclusively about highschool sports and new restaurants opening with every 10th article about how the local GOP is screwing over people.

Beware of fighting the last war. Times will change, and conventional wisdom about the last war can be wrong. After 2004, many said the Dems needed a candidate who appealed to evangelicals. After 2012, people said Republicans needed a moderate on immigration. I doubt podcasting is the key to '28.

Last night, 16 Senate Democrats voted with Republicans to advance a crypto-friendly bill that will enable Trump’s corruption. Instead of standing up to Trump, these 16 Democrats decided they’d rather do a big favor for the crypto industry and legitimize an avenue for Trump to collect bribes.

A shameful vote by all of them

Here are the 16 Dems. I don't know what to tell you, folks. It's bad. Alsobrooks Blunt Rochester Booker Cortez Masto Fetterman Gallego Gillibrand Hassan Heinrich Lujan Ossoff Padilla Rosen Schiff Slotkin Warner

the DOJ is literally **arresting Democratic members of Congress** and Senate Democrats are voting to pass Republican legislation

@kirstengillibrand.bsky.social has lost ALL credibility. ALL. Here and elsewhere. She's captured by big money and special interests and I do not trust her one bit. And like @joesudbay.bsky.social, I believe the Senator who actually fought for consumers, @warren.senate.gov

Who to believe here? Not @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social, who also chairs @dscc.bsky.social I believe the Senator who actually fought for consumers @warren.senate.gov

It’s incredible that the President of the United States is openly flirting with suspending Habeas Corpus, disappearing people left and right, arresting judges and politicians, accepting ludicrous bribes from foreign countries, and people are still trying to normalize this shit.

America First is a fucking scam. MAGA is a fucking scam. Everyone in the Trump regime is a scammer. None of these people care if you live or die. They’re just trying to make a buck off of us and think we’re too stupid to notice.

The Trump administration is defying the Supreme Court, arresting judges and mayors, talking about arresting congressmen, denying due process and openly musing about suspending habeus corpus too. There’s no constitutional crisis coming. It’s here.

They (dems) should be giving him nothing. Not a scrap. Not a single vote for any of his appointees. This isn't a "reach across the aisle" legislature. Our country, our constitution, our democracy, our freedoms are in peril and they are voting for his appointees? Good grief 🙄😡

The last time there was this much on-again off-again turmoil over tariffs in America, we revolted against the king over it — and won.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.: “Chaos is its own form of tariff. Who invests in a nation that can't have a set of dependable laws that people can count on?”

First of all, they're "Trump tariffs" any and every time you mention them. Second, they need to be described within the context of the whole agenda, the efforts by this regime of the bullies, for the billionaires, to abuse and bankrupt anyone who is not them.

There’s no denying it anymore: the pro-democracy movement is finally back on offense. Trump’s presidency is an unmitigated disaster. MAGA is imploding under the weight of its own lies, grifts, and failures. They’re not strong—they’re desperate. They’re flailing. And they know it.

Kamala Harris warned us many times that we would have a recession by the middle of the year…

I don't understand how any member of Congress can look at today and still believe they'd get some terrible backlash and lack of support from introducing an impeachment resolution, or even saying the word. Stop worrying about the nattering pundits who speak for nobody but themselves. Just do it.

A few GOP Senators and Reps could join Dems right now to end the fake emergency justifying Trump's tariffs. He'd veto. Let him. Ds can pressure Rs to override. They should hound Rs on this. On the pod, @normornstein.bsky.social brilliantly lays out this path forward: newrepublic.com/article/1936...

Unpopular opinion but if Harris truly believed Trump was the fascist she said he was during the campaign then it was ridiculous to attend his coronation like she, Biden, Hillary, and Obama did.

Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

we all understand that this just means we have to yell at our reps more, right

I mean this is the problem, the lesson from the 25 hour speech was to not give an inch, and within 10 seconds Senate Democrats... gave an inch

America is THIRSTY for any sign of leadership. If you're the sort of a person whose entire career depends on having people look at and like you, perhaps you'd like to step up and shine.

moving forward I would like to see dems gum up the works every way possible. No unanimous consent, full votes on every tiny piece of business. I don't expect everyone to have the stamina to do a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, but many lengthy floor speeches. Just slow everything down to a crawl.

It's important for the leadership of the Democratic and Republican Parties to both rule out the possibility of a third term for Trump. Immediately.

Talking about Trump talking about a “third term” isn’t talking about the future. Trump is starting the attack right now. And the attack is part of how he consolidates power right now. This isn’t “a conversation for later.” Once again, we’re watching a coup attempt, his second, in slow motion.

Hiring your brother is the original affirmative action for white people.

If you think what happened to Rumeysa Ozturk can't happen to you because you're a citizen and she's not, you are sorely mistaken. Ozturk was snatched off the street not for being a national security threat but for having a wrong opinion. If we don't put a stop to this, it's coming for all of us.

journalists should assume the admin is lying. judges should assume the admin is lying. Dems voting on appointments should assume the admin is lying. like, we should not be extending the benefit of the doubt ever here.

Well, they lied. Obviously.

Listen everyone. I’ve see classified stuff before. This in the Atlantic is the kind of stuff that gets the highest classification. I had to have TS clearance to hear the names of the people we targeted in Iraq when i was with TF16 and 17. And still some names were withheld until op was over….

Based on the group chat, it's not clear that the Commander-in-Chief made the final decision for the United States to bomb another country. "The core thing that was supposed to happen in these decision-making procedures clearly didn't happen," says Hayes.

“People should see the texts in order to reach their own conclusions.” @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social and @shaneharris.bsky.social share the group chat in which officials planned strikes on Yemen: theatln.tc/UHOLqA9E

The Defense Secretary and several others need to resign and face charges. Every member of Congress should demand it. Nothing less is acceptable. Also, all federal employees, to include FBI special agents, need to remember their oath is to the Constitution, not the president or a cabinet secretary.

NOW IS THE TIME TO GET LOUD AS HELL about this national security breach. Everyone. Former and current electeds must ALL speak up right now. Everyone.
