Good Morning. I did the thing again. Bought another book. Well, it was £0.99p on kobo. Pre-ordered some others. They seem to be interesting. #books

Nothing better than to come home to book mail. Today it is a package from @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social : my copy of "The Doomsday Book" by Connie Willis has arrived.

Specifically, I bought "Funny Story" by Emily Henry and "Part of your World" by Abby Jimenez. I wanted to not buy any books until my birthday next month, but... #books #booksky

Good Morning. I can say I am not a romance reader in general, but I did buy an Emily Henry and an Abby Jimenez book yesterday. I have been reading a lot of heavy fantasy/sci-fi and need something different and lighter. So, here we go, some rom-coms from 2 authors most people love. #books #booksky

Good Morning. In the UK, we have a bank holiday. So it is time for me to do some house chores, and then cup of tea and book. Today I am starting a new book: "The Incandescent" by @emilytesh.net I love Emily Tesh's writing, "Some Desperate Glory" is a book I still think about, 2 years later.

Book situation resolved. The tracking number was wrong, and my package will be delivered tomorrow. Phew!

Good Morning. It seems that one of my book mail got delivered to the wrong city. I have contacted the seller, and waiting to hear. Or they gave me the wrong tracking number. Or some such error. We'll see. Also most of my book mail arrives on Saturday, so will see if I receive it tomorrow.

Authors need to stand in solidarity with artists and audio narrators against AI. We're all creatives that AI is seeking to replace. Don't lose your humanity. Keep creating. Keep supporting creatives. Don't sell each other out for the promise of a quick, cheap fix. Solidarity! 💪

Today, I am going to start reading "Starling House" by @alixeharrow.bsky.social She is an auto-buy author for me. I have loved the previous two novels, especially "The Ten Thousand Doors of January". I cannot wait enough for "The Everlasting".

Not seeing a lot of “Fuck Elon” posts these days because he’s hiding to save his business from the shitstorm he created. Anyway, FUCK ELON.

I finished “Doomflower”by @jendiagammon.bsky.social yesterday and liked it quite a bit. The whole book is well written, with well defined characters. I loved the way it ends as it makes a lot of sense. I cannot wait to read Atacama now.

Can't wait to go home and relax, today.

Good Morning everyone. It is a beautiful day today where I am with the sun shining. Too bad I have to work. Otherwise, I would take a walk somewhere, then back home to get a cup of tea/coffee and a book.

Good Morning People of BlueSky. Another working week is starting. Today I am reading "Doomflower" by @jendiagammon.bsky.social I am about 30% in and enjoying this book thus far.

Good Morning. @barsukov.com I just finished your book, and I must say I really liked it. I can see why it is a Nebula nominee this year, the way it plays with memory, with reality and illusion, with dreams and nightmares. I will be definitely reading your next book.

I just watched the new Murderbot show. David Dastmalchian as Gurathin and Noma Dumezweni as Mensah are absolutely great. Of course, Alexander Skarsgard is fabulous as Murderbot... The scenes from "The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon" are fantastic. Can't wait for the next episode @marthawells.com

So I did a thing. I ordered more books this week. Need new shelves. #books #bookwormproblems

Good Morning. And can't wait to go home from work and watch Murderbot on Apple TV+! @marthawells.com And of course, It's Friday!

Big tech companies want to be able to 'train' their AI models on creative content without the permission of creators. This threatens the livelihoods of the UK's creatives. Labour must not sell out the UK's creative workforce so a few big companies can profit.

Blocked. Sharing so people can block it.

I am at work. And all I wanna do is go home, have something to eat, and read my book. #bookwormproblems.

Good Morning. I am watching the following at the moment. I can manage one episode per day (unless it is the weekend). Frieren on Netflix: I would say that this cozy fantasy; it is a breath of fresh air and a welcome respite from the more heavy books I am reading at the moment. 1/?

Next month's book is another favourite of mine, Babel by @rfkuang.bsky.social. I read it in December 2023 during my Christmas break. And of course, RF Kuang's new book "Katabasis" is on pre-order. "Katabasis" is a greek word which means "descent, going downwards".

Good Morning. I had some great time with my sff book club last night. We discussed "Alien Clay" by @aptshadow.bsky.social which was one of my recommendations. My sff book club loved the book, and it scored an 8/10. I must say, I loved that book, especially when they are describing the journey back.

They set fire to a hotel where refugees were forced to live, attacked mosques and homes, stopped people driving into an area if they weren’t white. “grievances” remember violent racism is always our fault

Speaking of @marthawells.com, I hope we get more Murderbot stories. Do not care if it is a novella, novel or a series of short stories. I am eagerly awaiting for the series which premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday. And they have included "The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon"! Cannot wait.

And, I received my kindle copy of The Emilie Adventures by @marthawells.com who is an auto-buy author for me (cannot wait for the sequel of "The Witch King" enough. I want to know what adventures await Kai.). And there was an offer on "Our Infinite Fates" by Laura Stevens so, I also bought that.

I started yesterday "Sleeping Worlds Have No Memory" by @barsukov.com. I only managed 28 pages as I was really tired, but I am intrigued and like it so far. I want to know what everyone is hiding about/within the tower and what is this all about...

Just received the email that my copy of "Future's Edge" by @garethlpowell.bsky.social from @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social has shipped and will be with me by the end of the week. Can't wait!

I made a mistake by getting Mary Lowd's book which I DNF'd where she is using AI for their cover, is ableist against autistic people like me. I bought the book before knowing the above about the author, and I am not buying anything else from her. #AI #books #autism

If you are using AI for your book covers/writing/other, I as a reader will be putting you on my black list. I prefer if an author uses Publisher or any other software to make a simple cover, or publish a story which is unedited but yours, rather than steal other creator's content via AI #AI #books
