What corporate monopolies are doing to grocery prices is no small potatoes. Watch.

Elon Musk doesn’t need another tax cut. Your kid’s teacher needs a raise.

The best way to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week? Paying them what they deserve.

The wrecking ball Trump is taking to funding of science and health research will set back our country for decades. Our national support for this research has resulted in new industries and medical breakthroughs.

Presenting at the United Nations in Geneva earlier this week on offshore finance as the platform for a global elite insurgency against democracy.

Burning coal is a large source of dirty air and climate change. Now Donald Trump is trying to subsidize coal with taxpayer dollars and destroy renewable energy production for electricity, even though it is cheaper (already) to utilize than coal. Why? For his donors?

Trump's EPA just moved to reverse state and local bans on toxic "forever chemicals" that can lead to birth defects and cancer.  So much for "Make America Healthy Again." https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/apr/05/trump-pfas-toxic-forever-chemicals

The United States is the richest country in the history of the world. But who benefits from those riches? Consider: the richest 10% of Americans hold nearly 70% of the nation’s wealth – while the bottom 50% hold just 3%. See the problem?

If Trump can claim a "national emergency" to disappear legal residents without due process, what’s to stop him from doing the same to U.S. citizens who oppose him? No one is safe — not even people legally in the country, possibly not even American citizens. Fascism is here.

Corporations who donated to Republicans were more likely to get tariff exemptions during Trump's first term. Now, tech companies like Apple are getting major tariff carveouts. Who donated $1M to Trump's inauguration? Apple CEO Tim Cook. It's crony capitalism.

What serenity looks like.

This is the budget resolution that Republicans have voted for. Another reminder that we have socialism for the rich, harsh capitalism for the rest.

After massive public backlash, the Social Security Administration is rolling back its disastrous cuts to phone services. This is a huge victory for the public against DOGE's rampage. Keep up the fight.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." -Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1953

Trump says tariffs will help US workers, but he may actually be putting them out of a job. Not only do tariffs make it harder for American companies to source products, but retaliation from our trading partners will shrink export markets. In a trade war, there are no winners.

15 years ago the Supreme Court decided corporations are people under the First Amendment. Today, billionaire political spending is up 160-fold since that ruling. We must overturn Citizens United. Every day, it corrupts our politics and erodes our democracy.

Programs like Social Security and Medicare act as a spending cushion that make recessions shorter, shallower. Absent these programs, recessions become longer and deeper with more long-term damage in terms of bankruptcies.

America has never been subject to this level of authoritarianism, and quite frankly, sheer incompetence. Out of the ashes, this moment should radicalize us to embark on an era of new reform — of our economy, our democracy, and our commitment to social justice and the law.

In the 1800’s new technologies drove increases in national output, creating more goods available for export. Just when life seemed most rich, countries set about erecting tariffs. As infant mortality dropped, deaths from war shot up.

Our economy is far larger than it was decades ago. Where have most of the gains gone? To the top. Any path forward must include a fight to restructure the economy toward more widely shared prosperity. This isn’t a blue state vs. red state phenomenon. It’s a class phenomenon.

Increasing the size of government after the Great Depression made the economy less cyclical. Those wanting unanchored, unregulated capitalism reminds one of the youngster begging to ride the roller coaster, forgetting that the last time he rode it, it made him sick.
