I just discovered Amazon has classified my self-published Civil War regimental history as suitable for ages 12 to 18. Like many things Amazon does, it doesn't even make sense. I need to find the time and energy to figure out how to change that to adult (or 12 to adult) ASAP. #booksky

HOAs are just an example. I'm sorry to say I'm one of the apathetic ones. "Lazy" is a better word because I always think someone else will do it. This piece gives some good examples of ways to improve.

The nonprofit National Trust For Local News emphasizes the importance of local control for local newspapers and describes community newspapers as “vital civic assets.” So why did it sell 21 newspapers to an out-of-state, for-profit media company with a history of reducing local newsrooms?

Every news reporter or anchor on air or online seems to be trying to create a unique pronunciation of Qatar. This morning I started hearing "KAYter" and "KayTAR." @merriam-webster.com says it's "Cotter"--can we all just go with that? Please?

This is what it's like here in Northern Nevada today, although I haven't seen any people fly past yet. I stayed on the deck and made my dog go out in the yard by herself this morning.

It’s said that we live in a post-fact society. We disagree. Now, more than ever, facts matter, and ProPublica is going to continue to track how and when patently false statements are injected into conversations about the country’s future. (Published Feb.)

Russia used manipulated images to justify the invasion of Ukraine. A new study reveals a 9,000% increase in posts and 5,000% surge in manipulated images from Russian milbloggers in the 2 weeks before the invasion. How #AI tools and humans team up to analyze social media content:

I checked to see what my dog was barking at and saw this. I live near the edge of town, and I wasn't surprised. However, this is a young coyote and probably hasn't learned to stay out of sight. This why I hate taking my dog out at night! #wildlife
