Anyone have a lead on a bail fund in the LA area?

Couldn’t have happened to a worse guy.

The line between “what is it they do here” and “everything flows through that person” is sometimes surprisingly thin!

If the text is written by ChatGPT I can almost guarantee it’s 5x as long as it needs to be and overly wordy.

This is not what I’m looking for as a message when eating chocolate!

Heavy sigh

Too often AI is a solution in search of a problem.

Modern customer service is designed to exhaust you right out of your money.

The reason a bad manager is more impactful than any other role is that, even after they’re gone, their words reverberate. It takes a really long time undo that damage.

For better or worse, Leslie Knope is still an accurate depiction of who I am as a work human 🫠

Every day I become more convinced that LinkedIn posts are, at minimum, 75% fabricated

Well today sucked

Ok, I need help! I’ve been making themed test data and I keep hitting a creative block. I refuse to use ChatGPT for this. What are fun themes/categories for a set of test data?

I am deeply pleased that part of my legacy is to further evangelize the use/understanding of the term “bitch eating cracker”

Half of my brain: yay! Exciting! New manager! Other half of my brain: Shit! I have to learn a new human 😂

Coded on a plane without wifi or any working IDE extensions. Seeing if I can still code like it’s 2012 and I’m working on an air gapped computer 😂

I didn’t have, the pope and I had the same major in college, on my bingo card 2025 is weird

Is it even a black box theatre if it isn’t frigid?

What in the Clippy is this Gemini BS

“Everyone is on site and won’t get work done next week” is not a valid exception to the “we don’t merge/launch late on a Friday rule”.

Great team with a great leader! explore.jobs.netflix.net/careers/job/...

So much of what tech stack you focus on comes down to chance. We all pivot and adjust over the course of a career, but a lot of it is influenced by where you start! I’ve been thinking about that a lot as it relates to early career roles and opportunities.

Had been feeling super scattered at work for the past week, which is never fun. Woke up today and it was like everything snapped into focus and I could function again. So bizarre!

One thing I’ve changed in my workflow over the years is that, if I see a related fix/tech debt to what I’m working on, I’ll start a fresh branch for that change if at all possible. Making that choice, to put in a small PR with just the change I found, prevents the size of changes from ballooning.

Almost as wonderful as the post is all the comments. Long time tech content creators all finding themselves having walked away from it for a long time. I can’t help but think the toxicity of Twitter had a lot to do with that. Maybe Bluesky is showing us all a bit of hope?

This place really has replaced Twitter in the way the other attempts failed. At least in terms of volume of folks!

Nothing like a Friday morning fire drill to get the blood pumping 🫠

This is interesting. The footgun is in overuse such that it’s a performance hit. But it could reduce the need for storing local state for end user quality of life improvements.

😂😂😂😂😂 You just cannot make this stuff up. This had to be a low side computer…right?!?! Reminder that I had a discman in 2013 in order to listen to music in a SCIF.

I aspire to a boring on call shift. Genuinely. That’s the goal!!
