I think of my good friend Robbie on Memorial Day, as I do of others who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. He was one of the kindest and thoughtful young men I've ever met. I wanted to share some thoughts about my friend — and what we owe each other as Americans.

Billionaire tax cuts are a policy choice. Cutting healthcare for millions is a policy choice. Taking from the poor and giving to the rich is a policy choice. Make no mistake: Trump and the GOP are choosing to do this.

According to ProPublica, more than a dozen top executive branch officials and congressional aides sold stocks just before Trump's "Liberation Day" market crash.  Today would be a great day to ban public servants from trading stocks, don't you think?

60% of American households can’t afford a minimal quality of life. Meanwhile, the 19 richest households saw their wealth increase by $1 trillion in 2024 — the biggest one-year increase ever. Our problem isn't a lack of resources. Our problem is ever-expanding inequality.

The world’s richest 1% have more wealth than the bottom 95% put together, according to Oxfam. There is no moral justification for this extraordinary level of inequality. It's distorting politics, rigging our markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people.
