this entire article is an argument for dems to refuse to lift a single fucking finger to help republicans pass a dirty CR. if congressional republicans can go straight to musk to get relief for their districts but congressional democrats can't, then there's absolutely no reason to help, at all.

Hello. If you are going to point out that Biden denied Trump intelligence access after his first term, you have to explain why. Thank you.

While rural people only make up about 20% of the overall US population, they make up about 44% of the military. I wish my people would look around and see how much disdain the Republicans show the military and veterans. They lie to you. They hate you. Wake up, friends.

PRIVATIZING SCHOOLS: “Billionaires created the groundwork for Trump to expand charter schools and promote federal vouchers. Those who benefit from this privatization scheme are not students, families, or taxpayers who support neighborhood public schools.” coloradotimesrecorder.com/2025/03/bill...

Costa Rica has massively rewilded over recent decades. Has this led to the collapse of farming, rural society, or national wellbeing? Totally the opposite, and we in Ireland have SO much to learn from their example. My piece for the @irishexaminer.bsky.social www.irishexaminer.com/lifestyle/ou...

The last time the Nasdaq closed more than 727.90 points lower was in March of 2020. Donald Trump botched the handling of the pandemic, and now he's mangling a booming economy.

Donald Trump is currently getting thousands of Ukrainians killed by withholding support and Starlink connectivity--*while* he is promoting ethnic cleansing to build casinos and condos in Gaza.

This likely confirms that the decision to arrest him was made at the highest levels of government, a terrifying return to the policies of ideological exclusion last seen used during the heights of the Cold War. A very, very worrying precedent at the start of this government.

Trump's entire shtick has always been "I will make you rich." It's what his TV show was, what his books and "university" were, and it's what his presidency is. It's all about the hope that if you support him and do what he does, you'll become him. It's all a con. It always was. It always will be.

Here’s the secret on Trump and tariffs: he gets to look tough by threatening them but he’s scared to death to use them or honestly, to actually do anything. This is why he only picks on our friends because he looks tough but isn’t. Also:

"Zelensky flew to Washington, but he walked into the Kremlin." – Rep. Jake Auchincloss Trump’s Oval Office propaganda handed Putin a win and made Americans feel less safe and ashamed. GOP, pick a side. America or Trump.

Tony Hinchcliffe, the "comedian" who called Puerto Rico "a floating island of garbage" at Donald Trump's Madison Square Garden rally has gotten a deal with Netflix for three live comedy show specials. Hard pass on watching that guy. Do better, Netflix.

Trump Recession Timeline: 1. This will be a Golden Age on Day 1! Prices will come down and economy will boom! 2. These policies won’t cause a recession. We know what we’re doing. 3. Ok, it will cause short-term pain but will be good in long term. 4. This is Biden’s recession!

The President of the United States is vowing to disappear students from college campuses who say things the government doesn't like. There are not enough alarms for this.

Those who know me know I was highly critical of what I saw as some of the rhetorical excesses of the campus protests. Khalil and I wld probably get into a spat immediately. It's all the more important for people who believe as I do to say clearly, the protections of the law are for everyone.

Yeah, this is a perennial truth -- landmark struggles over free speech typically involve people who are saying and doing things that are *unpopular* That's, uh, why they need the protection of the First Amendment. It's sort of the whole point.
