while seattle also has a bad track record with mayors and doesn't have ranked choice it does at least have an open primary which i think i am really starting to appreciate

just finished Shroud by Adrian Tchaikovsky and it was: very good

one game you've worked on - no words, just trailers! (sound on please) youtu.be/Q9j_YmpEwyw?...

in 300 years from now some 15 year old is going to be writing a paper on the fall of the american empire and they're gonna have to read these truth social posts

What's a poster you had up in your room growing up? surprising no one

even if you believe that simplifying books or whatever is a problem that needs to be solved, you don't need AI for it. just read the cliff notes or the wikipedia article or something it's not a real problem but if it was a real problem it's already solved without turning to AI slop

setting aside that there has been ample justification for impeachment like... months ago, the only reason not to call for it immediately is if you want to spend a little time getting the language right first, which, okay sure I guess

running out of ways to express dread

repeating this! begging people to read even the most cursory history of the last 80 years! things are bad enough already, nobody (least of all you!) needs your doomposting making it worse

I miss oreo coke zero

increasingly feeling that people writing about how "useful" AI is are just wrapping themselves up in increasing layers of gauze, separating themselves more and more from reality

does the enterprise have plumbing or does every faucet just have a micro-replicator in it

went outside today

a thing I think gets lost when people talk about starship exploding is that I don't think any of the falcons ever exploded as consistently as this? like, my understanding is falcon 9 has a very good safety record. so what's the difference?

on the one hand i'm pretty sure my kid would enjoy this new donkey kong thing, on the other i wasnt planning on getting a switch 2 yet so i think i'd better just pretend it doesn't exist for now

thank u magic chicken

just having a normal time, hooked up to an IV at a doctor's office trying not to cry while watching this documentary about Sally Ride

every now and then I remember that the gas station scene in John Wick 1 is set in NJ where it's illegal to pump your own gas and I get mad

avoiding thinking about all the bad things happening by looking at ebay listings for the yashica 124g instead

the thing about the really bad news I can do nothing about is that I can do nothing about it, which doesn't make me feel better but there it is

Me & my bsky bubble

i read that "people saw an original star wars print and they all thought it looked bad" story and like... is this just the film grain and color grading? because large parts of the movie look basically the same otherwise

it feels sort of on the nose but...

i think it okay

round trip complete!

made it

about to go on a road trip with a Chevy Bolt, sorry everyone else who wants to charge

I have a joke about a cyclops but nobody is listening

posting about every military strike that ever happens on this planet as "omg ww3" really doesn't help anyone, least of all your own mental health. don't let your constant access to information in 2025 make you think our bad times are worse than legitimately much worse times!

can't believe this was 5 hours ago

i dont really feel that social media is adequate to express how i am feeling currently

also i saw a comment somewhere going "we should consider that star trek is fully tapped out" and... the core of star trek is a found family exploring the universe and by doing so learning more about ourselves. you can do literally a gajillion things with that. doesn't have to be nostalgia bait
