Setting the mood for outlining the overdue third book in my Speaker Origins series this afternoon. Did you know that in some Babylonian cities you could stop at roadside booths in the morning and pay a few bucks to have your dreams interpreted? We should bring that back. πŸ’™πŸ“šπŸͺ #amwriting

my grandpa was illiterate so i have no idea if this ouija board is working or not

Got a perfect mug out of the kiln today. #pottery #ceramics #canadianceramics #mug

Really fucked up today by checking the news before trying to sit down and finish the final chapter of a book with a foundation of satire and humor. #Amwriting #Not

1. I've never heard anyone point out how close Leonard Cohen's opening for "Waiting for the Miracle" is to "Unicron's Theme" from Transformers the Movie. And the movie came out a few years earlier. Maybe not a huge overlap in the fan bases :) #MusicSky #Transformers

Google and Meta search both report that Cape Breton Island has its own time zone 12 minutes ahead of mainland Nova Scotia time because they are both drawing that information from a Beaverton article I wrote in 2024

New book review! With a mix of gladiator-style combat, song-based magic, and a centuries-old feud between "unkillable" adversaries, Violence & Vigilance by David T List was a really fun read. fanfiaddict.com/review-viole... #FanFiAddict #booksky #bookreviews

So glad the price of my Google account is going up because of the added value of the AI they tell me I have to use. I'd rip it out by the roots if I were able. ...the Google email which was free for twelve years and now I can't get rid of b/c it basically IS my business...

It was so fun to talk to @danielebolelli.bsky.social. We had a good time getting into it about the Spartans!

I have been re-reading the Bachman Books by @stephenking.bsky.social . All of the stories in this series feel dystopian. I have owned this book for decades and read it many times. But reading it this year, turning to this page, and seeing the date and tagline. . . . #booksky

Just read a historical take on FB that was wrong in both so vague and yet so specific ways at the same time, while also being ignorant of the conspiracy theories they were echoing, that it was far, FAR easier to simply log off and go to bed than touch the keyboard.

Not quite sure my own pieces in this promo were the best fit, but nevertheless it seems to be full of quality reads. πŸ’™πŸ“šπŸͺ #books #promosky

Mind you, sometimes I was playing on hard mode for no other reason than an obtuse sense of humor.

Twenty years later, I'm still sore about that day I got passed on the highway heading north from Vancouver by an RV called "The Hitchhiker."

This is all good advice, especially the sample. A good, honest editor wants to check you out as much as you do them, and will hopefully let you know if your book isn't ready for an edit yet.
