Let's not have status quo bias here: if you're against letting in immigrants on the basis that they might be bigoted, then you should also be okay with kicking out native-born Americans that are bigoted. Either both are okay, or neither are okay. Personally I favour neither being okay.

The Western Allies should have turned their forces around in 1945 and taken out Franco as well. Salazar too, while they're at it. Their militaries were basically nothing and half the population of Spain would've greeted them as liberators. Would have saved about 30 years of everyone's time.

The idea that societies can collapse from 'decadence' was something I used to dismiss as just tradcon nonsense, and in the way they mean, it certainly is. But I think they had a point, just not as they intended: rather than LGBT rights, it is MAGA that arises from decadence and moral decline.

People made fun of this tweet years ago, and fair enough, since the poster is stupid and evil. But just because it's ironic and would break into infighting immediately after victory, doesn't mean it's not a threat. I think we forgot that, in our mockery. It's real, and we must adapt to fight it.
