Something that I am discovering is that I am good at talking with folks about how not to get stuck in fear and doom. I have been inspired in this by @vickyacab.bsky.social and others - using some therapist skillz to remind people they are right to be worried but that we still have agency.

My 16 year old step son loathes this shit and we live in a place where it is clearly being rewarded IRL. He doesn't have any social media yet (I think this is helpful) and we are engaged in asking him to grapple with questions about gender and power and race and responsibility to other people.

Okay. Not-a-lawyer-butt. This to me is the tell. Women's oppression defined explicitly as a "shared disadvantage" resulting from "shared biology". These are steps to formalize womanhood as a reproductive role, synonymizing it with certain features of anatomy that are "naturally" disadvantaged.
