“…heroism is neither being perfect, nor doing something spectacular. … it’s regular, flawed human beings choosing to put others before themselves, even at great cost, even if no one will ever know, even as they realize the walls might be closing in around them.” open.substack.com/pub/heatherc...

NEW: President Biden has commuted 1500 sentences and pardoned 39 individuals; the largest grant of clemency by an American president in a single day. www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-roo...

Happy Sunday!

We MUST keep vaccines. have you written your Senator to let them know?

I'm going to post this video every day so we never forget

Props to President Biden for pardoning his son. Why stop there? Why not go ahead and grant all federal clemency petitions and pardon everyone facing the death penalty? That’ll really get MAGA folks and give pundits something to talk about. And also it would be a morally decent thing to do.

I was in Texas in Trump's 1st term when he put immigrants in detention centers. Local news carried more stories about it than did national news. It was horrible. Elementary age children were made to take care of toddlers/babies because there were no adults there. We cannot let this happen again.

I know everyone is talking about Matt Gaetz but please don't miss this: Georgia fired every single person on its maternal mortality review committee. Why? They didn't like that reporters found out that the state's ban killed two women www.propublica.org/article/geor...

The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election 👀 #BookSky #BlackBookSky
