Comptroller Lander was merely asking for a judicial warrant. Arresting him for that is an unacceptable abuse of power. He did not break the law. He was peacefully accompanying a New Yorker at immigration court. He must be released immediately.

Some good news: President Joe Biden will be in Galveston, Texas to celebrate Juneteenth at its birthplace. He will be at Reedy Chapel, originally built by slaves before emancipation. Times have not been announced. Galveston, my hometown, is the birthplace of Juneteenth, Biden signed the bill in 2021
