I would have definitely assumed it was describing the drama in some trashy reality TV show, so I would have been mostly right.

Niiiice

Hey, remember when you had that nerd phase and played Magic: The Gathering? You should be super embarrassed by that. So embarrassed, in fact, that you don’t want to even throw your old cards in the trash in case someone sees them. Fear not. You can just mail them to me and I’ll take care of em.

15 year old boy: Loves video games- uninformative, basically all boys love ‘em. Also loves WWII: worrisome but not dispositive, might just be a history nerd. And wants to be a cop: >80% chance he’s sent Nazi Pepe memes to a Jewish journalist.

I hate post-material politics as much as anyone, but this is definitely not evidence that voters are choosing their mayor based on I/P. One would a priori expect strong support for Israel and support for Cuomo to be correlated since both are correlated to a third thing: having garbage opinions.

We really need a new term for heritability that makes it clear that’s it’s not some sort of causal claim about how traits are inherited through DNA but just a statistic about how much stuff can’t be easily explained via environment or random chance.

I think this elides the fundamental problem with posting on Twitter. It’s not just that Nazi chuds yell at you, it’s that those Nazi chuds have the owner on their side, and the algorithm is continually refined to the benefit of the Nazi chuds and to the detriment of liberal society.
