I believe that Love wins. I am a capitalist but believe Capitalism must have a Heart. I believe that our government is too big but that a stable, productive and efficient government is a prerequisite to our Democracy.

Knowing that Melania has to sit through all this crap almost makes it worth it.

Norm!

Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like during the time that President Trump was off to Italy for the Pope's funeral that we had about 36 hours of relative calm. Maybe nobody else noticed it but I sure did. A few moments without hearing hate and racism and an utter lack of understanding or care.

Thank whichever god suits you that Trump has put every country on a 10% tariff for 90 days. Let's hope it lasts longer than that. What we have learned from this is how utterly flawed, unsophisticated, unknowing, un-understanding and vicious Trump is. He ain't worried about Main Street.

I have been reading about people stocking up on goods for fear of tariff effects. We hit Madagascar with 47%. I bought three bottles of vanilla a Costco...

By the way, just to be clear, the conversation about nude yoga that I mentioned in my previous post was in the context of group yoga. So, just to be clear, I'm against nude group yoga. If you want to do yoga in the nude by yourself, I 100% support that.

Last Friday night I got mixed up in a conversation about nude yoga. For the record, I'm against it. On my walk today, I did the math and determined that 97.4% of anything someone would want to accomplish by doing yoga in the nude can, in fact, be accomplished while wearing some form of clothing.

Spending tens of millions of dollars to win an election but only to fail. Seems like an inefficient use of resources....

I don't have a degree in economics, but it seems to me that if we are going to be paying higher prices for goods in the near-term due to increased tariffs, won't we be paying just as much or more for tariff-free US-made goods due to the higher labor rates in the United States? Golden Age?

I want to give a person the benefot of doubt but I understand where you are coming from.

I am dismayed by the Signal leak that purported "leaders" in the administration allowed. But also dismayed to see people making fun of Hegseth's problem with alcohol. Addiction is a disease and the fact that his troubleshave risked America's safety and security makes it all that much more tragic.

Watching Gabbard & Ratcliffe answering to the Senate Intelligence Committee. Trying to be fair-minded but I just can't stop thinking that a fair-minded individual would have to admit that what happened on Signal with a few of our "leaders" in just unquestionably pathetic. We are at Peak Mediocrity.

The most damaging aspect of the Signal/Houthi Bombing leak is what it said to Europe. The comments from Vance and Hegseth tell Europe that they are seen, at best, as a difficult client but, more likely, a candidate for a shake-down.

This Signal/Houthi Bombing leak from actual Department Secretaries and other "leaders" shows how the merit based system works. Set the bar of merit low. This system allows anyone with any office experience to qualify as a Department Secretary as well as a few other key administration positions.

I just saw an interview with Musk in the oval office and he claimed that the DOGE website posts all of their actions, making them clearly visible and transparent. I went to the DOGE website and it's a black screen with a $ in the middle. Anybody have some insight on where the DOGE work can be seen?

I'm going to try to make time tomorrow for a trip to Costco. Gonna stock up on tin foil. Heavy Duty long box 2-pack will be going fast.

I was able to eat a brownie tonight, after dinner and before watching Severance, because I hadn't filled up on all those empty calories in the broccolini.

Yesterday Mr Trump directed the US to pull out of the Paris climate agreement. The next day Mother Nature brought snow to Texas and the southest. Coincidence?... 😆 The power of the pen.
