This is notable because it sets the tone for next season. I’ve seen ISU anywhere from 23rd to 11th in the Too Early polls. 15-18 feels right for a preseason ranking (pending any more transfers), but being in the top 20 makes things a lot easier come playoff selection time if ISU is worthy again.

I think the idea of “more commanders = more fun” is a bit of a fallacy. Many of the new commanders are intentionally narrow to reign in otherwise super powerful effects, so the decks for them don’t vary much. Making few commanders that are less pushed and more open-ended would bring more variance.
