31.4% of children aged 4-5 years old are overweight or obese in Carmarthenshire, the highest levels in Wales. Less than half of 73 schools in the county comply with the recommended 2hrs of minimum time for PE. Very worrying.

I have no idea what the Welsh Tories USP is ahead of next year's Senedd election. No Reform voter wants Reform-lite. They're so irrelevant that even Reform staffers aren't tracking their social media/policies. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It’s Independent Bookshop Week!🥳📚 Picked up this lovely book about one of Wales' greatest politicians from Goldstone Books in Carmarthen this afternoon 🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 #ChooseBookshop #IndieBookshopWeek

A lovely memory on Instagram this morning from two years ago 🤠🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

New research from @transenv.bsky.social finds that average bonnet height in newly-sold cars is increasing by 0.5cm a year, reaching 83.8cm in 2024, up from 76.9cm in 2010. This increases severity of crashes & reduce drivers’ visibility. www.transportenvironment.org/articles/eve...

After years of underinvestment in Welsh rail, this funding for projects is hugely welcome. We need urgent reform in how funding is shared across the UK. The Barnett formula is outdated, unfit, and holding Wales back. We need a system that reflects our needs, ambitions, and future.

Looking forward to all the political hot takes of the day today. Devolution is cool, right?

Having been around Lliedi knocking doors over the past few weeks, last nights result is disappointing but not surprising. The hangover of Stradey Park Hotel and the impact of UK Labour's Winter Fuel Allowance policy all played their part.

Interesting report from Ofcom on the UK's listening habits 🎧 Younger people more likely to listen to podcasts weekly (28% of 25-34s and 30% of 35-44s) 🎙️ Spotify and BBC Sounds leads the way on the podcast platform of choice. www.ofcom.org.uk/tv-radio-and...

Not my circus, not my monkey etc. but it's interesting to see such a public debate of ideas in the Plaid Sir Gâr contest.

"Aligning with Reform on immigration would fail to recognise the fundamental finding of this report: what people crave is tangible progress in their community and further power at a local level to make it happen, tapping into what already inspires feelings of pride." party.coop/community/le...

🌧️ The three-month (February-April 2025) cumulative Wales rainfall was 59% of that expected for this time of the year. ☀️ Driest March since 1944 The realities of climate change are hitting home. naturalresourceswales.gov.uk/about-us/new...

In the year to May 13, only 225mm of rain had fallen in England and Wales, 29 per cent below the long-run average. By this metric, 2025 has been the driest year since 1997 and the seventh-driest year on record since comparable data began in 1931.

golwg.360.cymru/cylchgrawn/2... An interesting read on the top four candidates for the Plaid Cymru list in Sir Gaerfyrddin.

The Telegraph says the semicolon is dying; I say it’s just taking a dramatic pause. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/05...

It's mental that the Leader of Plaid Cymru thinks you can't plant trees on Ynys Môn because it's "too windy" 🤠 open.substack.com/pub/willhayw...

"This U-turn has now created more destabilising and debilitating uncertainty in our game, with pertinent questions being asked by stakeholders across our clubs and within our communities regarding the future framework and landscape for professional rugby in Wales" www.scarlets.wales/article/join...

Little weekend away in Somerset with the boy 🐶🍏

There have been some awful rebrands in the last few days... 🤦🏼‍♂️

...they haven't been out voters for a long while. In Wales, it's quite clear where we should be parking our tanks. We need to work to bring back those voters thinking of voting Plaid next year.

With a Railcard, I've paid £3.95 to travel 65 miles to Cardiff by train. If I wanted to get a single ticket to Carmarthen from Kidwelly by bus, it would cost £3 to travel 10 miles. Isn't public transport fun! 🤠

I think tomorrow's game at the Principality Stadium is like to see a 50,000+ crowd in attendance. This year's Judgement Day saw only 28,328 in attendance at the national stadium.

Y tro cyntaf i Gymru gael lai na phump o chwaraewyr wedi'u dewis ar gyfer garfan y Llewod.

Must be the most vapid interview I've ever read. Just deflections and stonewalling. The thing is, those who are looking to vote Reform, they don't care what their policies are and who the Welsh leader is. They're fed up, angry and want change. www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-n...

A clear red wake up call 😬

Another day in paradise with the boy 🐾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏰

Glad to see the First Minister standing up for Welsh steel communities

The viewing gallery for the Tŷ Hywel Siambr isn't great. 10/10 for staring at the back of the heads of MSs though. If you're lucky, you might even have a former Secretary of State of Wales sat next to you like I did today 🤠

Sport 🤝 politics Glad to see Ken considering putting his name in the hat for the Sir Gaerfyrddin selection. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Listened back Jose Peralta's interview on Sunday Supplement this morning. He would of done Hybu Cig Cymru and Welsh agriculture a better service by apologizing for the ill-informed posts. Just do better. Promote our quality produce and be honest about climate change. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

If only this guy was the leader of a Welsh nationalist party to instigate this revolutionary 5 year plan... 🤠

Totally missed that Richard Hibbard was appointed Chief Executive of Welsh Rugby League last year. "I think it’s important to set the context and be crystal clear – we’re doing what we do with just £45,384 of central funding a year." wrl.wales/richard-hibb...

I would like to have seen the Welsh Government respond to the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales' report on building resilience to flooding by now. NICW published their report back in October 2024. nationalinfrastructurecommission.wales/building-res...

Not sure what's bold about suggesting citizens assemblies. Of the small pool of think tanks we have in Wales, this idea has been put forward multiple times.

"Too often, we talk about building a better future for young people—but we forget to invite them into the rooms where those futures are shaped. And when they do get in, they’re often made to feel like they don’t belong. But we do. And we have more to offer than tokenism or youth panels." 👏

Rejoice, for it has finished #JDX Let's not do another one 👎

Hollol wir gan Emyr Phillip, ni di bod yn siomedig. Boys, it's the fucking Dragons 🤦🏼‍♂️😂 #WelshRugby #JDX

This is one of the most important aspects in tackling climate change - building public trust. We will have MSs in the next Senedd who "do not believe in net zero". They will replace action with delay, and dialogue with polarisation. nationalinfrastructurecommission.wales/2025/04/16/b...

Politics podcasts and their ads 🤠

Not entirely sure why the festival invited him in the first place... His book "Into the Abyss" should probably stay there 🤮🚮 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
