Researchers predominantly approach health studies through a Western biomedical lens... often treating Māori participants as research subjects rather than active contributors to knowledge production.' Published in both English and Māori in ANZ J Surg 👏👏👏 #MedSky doi.org/10.1111/ans....

Find yourself a workplace where inclusion is visible. 🤗 #PrideMonth 🏳️‍🌈

I would just like to thank all you beautiful people here on bluesky that made me feel heard, provide me with wisdom and make me laugh. In a world where I can often feel isolated and alone, you guys are the absolute best. I am deeply grateful.

Quarter of cancer deaths in QLD receive systemic chemo in the 30 days before death- decreasing QOL and increasing rates of needing acute care and dying in hospital. And private pre-mortem chemo rates exceed public rates for all cancers except melanoma. 💔

Whenever I see a post spruiking raw milk, my curious brain goes 'they don't want brief 30⁰ heating after it comes out of the cow... but would never countenance not chilling it 30⁰ for transportation to the shops? Have I got that right?' 🤔

No more 'Happy Pride' for #PrideMonth please. How is it 'happy' when rainbow community rights are under attack and health disparities persist? Let's have a principled, productive, protest-y month instead. ✊✊✊

Today’s maunga were the disappeared cones of Pukekawa, Grafton & Te Pou Hawaiki. Pukekawa is a taonga; the abandoned & eerie Epsom campus has enormous potential. The Wintergarden was delightful, as always.

Can't believe it's been a whole year since I made this. Thank you to everyone who's shared what it means to them seeing Pride represented with images from near and far, all across the universe. The original page was taken down, but can still be found on archive.org: web.archive.org/web/20250129...

Remembering Chevalière d'Éon for Pride. A transgender woman in the 1700s who was also a spy and who turned double agent, extorted an entire monarchy to get her gender marker changed, and lived her life as a woman in a time when such was thought impossible. We have always been here.

It’s Pride Month! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 Did you know? Since 2006, the Human Rights Commission has said loud and clear: trans people are protected under the Human Rights Act. 💪💖 Rights matter. Visibility matters. Pride matters!

I have to share credit for this shot with @boyfrombruce.bsky.social as he suggested this angle. This was Friday night at our campground at Gluepot Reserve, looking straight up through the mallee scrub. With a glimpse of the Milky Way. We really struck it lucky with perfectly clear skies. #astro

If an active lifestyle was available as a drug, everyone would take it. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Absolutely stoked to have won the @historycouncilsa.bsky.social Wakefield Press Essay Prize and I wish I could've been in Adelaide to receive it in person. This piece had a challenging evolution, and now it all feels very worthwhile! Pouring myself a big glass of a Barossa merlot to celebrate

Back in The Riverland South Australia for a 5 day locum. Helping my country colleagues who manage such complex cases a long way from Tertiary Hospitals. @urethroplasty.bsky.social is here with me for a couple of days. #AnSky #MedSky

We've been planning and dreaming for a long time at Bond University, but seeing the site cleared is still a shock. The medical school extension is going to be massive! Such an incredible boost for the students 😍
