Where the Red Fern Grows. I sat on my bed and bawled the first time I read it (yes I read it again, probably more than once, cried then too)

This was my exact thought watching the Kentucky Derby this weekend. Y’all keep it up with the hats and expensive horses, you seem happy and you’re not destroying the republic

My WiFi is broken, I’ve been reduced to sitting on the sofa listening to the washing machine run

Can confirm: Just spoke to him, and Barber and two others were, in fact, arrested. Story coming.

Every time he starts talking about the Panama Canal this is all i can see, a crazy old man who thinks he’s president

Hey @ncstate.bsky.social I see Duke and Wake Forest on this list but no one from the UNC system, surely that’s not right

Does it feel cleaner in here because I ran the vacuum robot or because I had to pick up all the shoes and cords for the benefit of the robot

I swear to god if this administration makes me learn what “treasuries” are

If you are an NC resident and voted in November, please check if your name or the names of any family areone of the 60K votes being challenged. If so, confirm ASAP with your Board of Elections. You only have two weeks. The website to check linked in the reply. www.newsobserver.com/news/politic...

If you’re not watching Cory Booker, turn it on. Lots of streams available!

Before anyone gets any “it was a different time” ideas, he’s 44. It was not. I managed to get through college without anyone offering me a confederate anything just 4 years later

Duke isn’t even my team, why am I watching this game that hasn’t started yet at 10:04pm

Is DeJoy the first trumper to resign this time around? Is @darthbluesky.bsky.social gonna wake up so he can photoshop him sitting on the white house lawn?

If Donny wanted to be Canadian this bad he coulda just said so, why are the rest of us dragged into this

Years ago I a read an article about how the worldview of the right was primarily framed around punishment. You can be anti-abortion and pro-death penalty if you see them both as a punishment for misbehavior, for example. Anyone remember where/who that was?

Once again, it’s the end of February during a trump administration and I’m feeling the urge to plant a vegetable garden as a hedge against societal collapse

The right answer is “don’t go, hold a rally instead” but if I’m honest? I’d sit in the back and heckle. Throw popcorn. Put my feet on a republican’s seat. Do my best impression of a bored emo kid at a pep rally.

Trump take fabric

The feeling of judgement from my teetering tbr pile when I get the notification that the new @lindaholmes.bsky.social novel has shipped, knowing I’m going to skip the line and read it next

Ok. This is a “demo”, it’s an “agile ceremony”. Usually it doesn’t come with a threat. These nerds are trying to run the country with methods that (sorta) work for software devs and that an army of management consultants got rich trying to apply to other things, mostly unsuccessfully.
