Neurospicy librarian; Olympic hopeful. Lazy, but bad at it. Very busy, so tell me why you’re DMing me if you expect a response. Content: obscure primary sources, #ALA. Mocking my horse, #GarbageMare, who I found in a trash heap.

Publisher: Let me slave over an absolutely perfect proof. Printer: Wh at do sentenc es even mean when y ou think about it?

📚 Yesterday: Gee, we have so many unlabeled photos in campus archives. I wish someone would show up and tell us who these people are. Today: I’m doing a slideshow for [1970s campus person]’s 100th birthday and can I look through the photos in your archive. So yeah we can manifest patrons now.

💙📚 Come to the @openinstructional.bsky.social booth at #ALAAC25 and meet author R.J. Striegel! He will be signing his debut novel Land Shadows, a surprisingly timely book about land fraud, Supreme Court corruption, and just a little bit of sex and six-guns thrown in for fun. 20% off at ALA!

📚 So thrilled that Land Shadows has been getting great reviews! I've worked very hard at publishing this book via @openinstructional.bsky.social and we will be bringing the author to ALA Annual in Philadelphia. #ALAAC25 reedsy.com/discovery/bo...

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures. He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power. He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

Bad app idea: A game about learning botany called Petalfiles

BlueSky Bubble (not derogatory): I don't invite Nazis into my house. BlueSky Bubble (derogatory): If you don't let me walk into your house and scream at you for hours about how you're a mudperson who deserves to die, you're oppressing my freedom of speech.

#GarbageMare: Why don’t they make hoodies to fit horses? This is discrimination.

I’ve already ordered my badge ribbons for #ALAAC25 but I really want one that says “GUILTY OF IDEOLOGICAL CAPTURE”

📚 It’s wild to me that some libraries don’t allow staff to come in outside operating hours. Being able to come in at any hour and have a library all to oneself is such a magical feeling. I’m here an hour before we open and two of my coworkers are already here reading the morning newspapers.

@amlibraryassoc.bsky.social We need Gritty!

📚 A patron just asked to borrow my earbuds 🤢

School librarians: I want to hear YOUR story! Whether you’re new to the profession or a veteran, your experiences matter for my doctoral research. Help shape our understanding of the school librarian’s role by participating in an interview. bit.ly/Cooksey-rese...

Mother Agave has started opening up! At the bottom she has already started dying off, though how quickly that happens I don’t know. And yes, agave are in the asparagus family, hence the resemblance!

As someone who keeps failing to get murdered, I covet the Final Girl mug!

Mother Agave continues to bolt - it’s 10 feet high now!

I’m on a boat and It’s goin fast and I got a nautical-themed pashmina afghan

“This is how humans make friends with each other: they offer each other drugs.” - Me, persuading #GarbageMare to accept getting her teeth done.

📚 Library author events are so much fun! Tonight Ramona Emerson is talking about her second book “Exposure.” She has a fascinating story of the raven-brought omens that inspired the book. I have to say I’ve experienced the same, but never regarded ravens as omens. Rather protectors and guardians.

My bad for walking around without my DSLR. Anyway this is a New Mexico whiptail lizard! We are unable to abide by anti-DEI executive orders at this time, because our whiptails are all lesbians and very hard to remove from campus. (Seriously, there are no male whiptails in New Mexico.)

Part of the campus contains a rose garden. The city also has an open rose garden spanning several city blocks, maintained by volunteers.

Gonna tell my kids this was ChatGPT
