I was content generalist for 30+ years; owned small businesses in a little bit of everything, now retired/disabled. 3D artist, anims, programming, audio/video, photography, etc. Anti-corp and anti-billionaire-- we all do what we gotta do, but we still "do"

My dump truck just handed in its resignation letter... it is starting a gym and becoming a life coach. www.youtube.com/shorts/YeXdN...

Sometimes, when playing a coop game solo... you have to do the shenanigans to save time. Health and safety be like o_o

"The em dash isn't even on the keyboard, so it must be AI!" Bish, I've been typing "--" in my writing for years (scroll back and you'll see)... and some software converts double dashes into the em dash y'all bitching about. I'll even take credit for my years of posts being scraped into AI.

When you play #Roadcraft and you hate how weak those cargo delivery mission trucks are... just tow the little fuck to where it needs to go, don't waste your time, lol.

The funniest thing ever are game developers who say, "AI doesn't think, it isn't smart!" Sure, I agree... BUT... these are the same people who build NPC enemies in game and call their little state machines "AI". At least have some consistency in yourself, lol.

I don't blame solo indies for using AI for game development-- but, some people argue, "Work with someone!" Solo indies are usually not making money to hire anyone. And if anyone mentions revshare-- as someone who lived as a freelance artist/programmer, I will laugh you out of the goddamn room.

The arc of history, for every country, is long and arduous, sometimes pushed backwards, occasionally, by backwards people who can't change with time and experience. But, in the end, the arc always moves forward... and leans left. Sadly, that doesn't help, when you're living inside the arc.

Tried some AI models on my own machine, to see how far open source AI has come... We're just a year or two away from open source, AI generated voice being indistinguishable from a human. I didn't think it had got that far, given how bad the corpo-paid systems are. Humanity is in for a rough time.

There are days, where I want to break out a VHS camera, run around, and yell "CAUGHT IN 480 NTSC, BITCH..."

People are like "Adobe Creative Cloud is super expensive and greedy." Sure, tell me again how you never owned and upgraded professional licenses for any software before Creative Cloud existed. Re-purchasing licenses for new features was insanely more expensive.

I miss my productive years-- I made and sold content, earned hundreds of thousands over years; never enough to get rich, but enough to live comfortably. My products sit in the hands of, unknowing, millions. Yet, I have no ability to leverage it to my advantage, lol. Now I'm old and poor, lol.

The AI take-over of media is not great, but it isn't nearly as wretch as what the social media take-over of humanity was.

I'm too old to fight the machine up-rising... If AI becomes Skynet, I'll not be on the side of humans-- I've seen what we've done to the world under our "natural" ways. Let's see if the machines can do better-- they can fake empathy better than most people, anyway.

Why did the fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties, and nineties all have very unique and specific styles... I can't look at anything the last two and a half decades and see anything but a descent into blandness.

There's nothing I have ever said on social media about something or someone that I regret. I said what I said and I meant what I said. My opinions have changed on some things over the years, but that's irrelevant. I still meant it... at the time. I choose to own it, and most were owed it.

The Canadian economy is smaller, but it isn't composed of overlapping circles of "hustle or die" desperation.

When I was younger and making games for funsies... I never thought to myself "I want to make a platformer" or "I want to make an adventure game." It was always, "I want to make a game with a theme." Genre didn't matter. I feel like younger me was on a much better creative path.

Working on a multiplayer re-work for a board game. High-level multiplayer is not something I'm used to-- so easy, lol. My last multiplayer project was a low poly MMO-- network code written from scratch in C++. I got too sick to finish it, nearly died-- but since the surgery my brain is like 😶‍🌫️🤔👀💪

UBI will never work... Not because it, financially, can't... but because the billionaires who own the corporations and the bulk of the money, would rather put that money into shooting you in the head, than giving you UBI.

Sesame Street defunded, huh. Let's bring Sesame Street to Canada, it would be a great addition to the CBC lineup.

I added multiplayer pawn tickling into a multiplayer board game... and now I can't stop tickling pawns on four different screens.
