Hey wanna see some cool experimental clicker / idle / incremental games? Last month for the final project in my 'economics for game designers' class at @nyugamecenter.bsky.social, students made some *incredible* incremental games, so I wanted to do a thread showing off their work! 1/ πŸ‘‡πŸ“ˆπŸ‘‡πŸ“ˆπŸ‘‡

Beyond the blatant racism, it's also worth noting that cities are, in fact, wealth and tax generating, and it's the suburbs that are the drain. Every suburb in America exists only because of the resources taken from those "inner city" citizens. For more info: www.strongtowns.org/journal/2020...

"You're seriously going to rally around Influencer Cop, an utterly unelectable actual criminal?" Business: Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

All day everyone I was talking with thought Zohran would win, but was afraid to really believe it, bc everyone's been disappointed before and were afraid to get their hopes up again, so just "cautiously optimistic!". But he *did* win, and it wasn't even close! We can hope for better and get it.

I'm in touch with a source in Cuomo's camp. They're all screaming and turning back into rats. Not looking good so far

An Indian-Muslim socialist who is openly pro Palestine is going to be mayor of a city that is bigger than 38 states

I think win or lose the lesson from tonight’s nyc mayoral race is that the Democratic establishment are openly contemptuous of anyone that actually believes a better world is possible, will fight tooth and nail to stop anyone who does, and must be ousted before we can even hope to fight back.

Looking pretty good!!! The last poll had him up by 4, but the thing with polling is it assumes a random sample is representative. I've been thinking that wouldn't be the case: Zohran's voters are very likely to turn out, whereas Cuomo voters, landlords aside, are more like, "Eh, him I guess".

Can't believe I got a picture with our next mayor!!

Yeah. I keep joking that after Zohran wins tomorrow, we'll suddenly get a deluge of NYT thinkpieces about how it turns out that ranked choice voting is bad, why small donation campaign matching is actually evil, and how maybe Eric Adams isn't so bad after all. They'll be on overdrive all summer.

whatever else they do, the prime directive of the democrats is to prevent the election of anyone who threatens the interests of the ultra-rich. that comes before everything else

spent my afternoon making a short little web game for New Yorkers called "Don't Rank Cuomo"... it has 10 levels. it's very realistic and challenging. can YOU don't rank Cuomo? play in browser (free): radiatoryang.itch.io/cuomo

I've been thinking about an under-utilized design space I wish there were more examples of: Deckbuilders where you add *sets* of cards to your deck, rather than adding em one by one. So I wrote too much about it: blog.literallyaking.com/2025/06/12/d...

ICE called in a fake 911 call so they could sneak a van of detainees out when the crowd parted for the responding fire truck. Beyond being blatantly illegal (nothing new for them there), this is just incredibly stupid and dangerous.

Something so weird about Sims speaking with normal speech bubbles

Our 2yo has started playing his first real actual game with us- saying "stop" and "go" in a cute little voice and you have to freeze and unfreeze what you're doing. But then he tried using the "stop" on me while I was washing his face. So looks like I gotta sit him down and explain the magic circle.

It's funny watching the convolutions of the big corporate press propping up a laughable candidate like Cuomo- they continually want to compare him to Adams, who is obviously worse, but they can't go too hard because they know that after Zohran wins the primary they're gonna have to stump for Adams.
