🚨BREAKING: In a victory for voters, a federal court has halted Republican Judge Jefferson Griffin’s efforts to overturn an election and disenfranchise thousands of voters. A federal judge has ordered the state to certify Democratic Justice Allison Riggs’ victory.

This is getting overlooked: Trump *openly admitted* he hasn't even asked Bukele to return Abrego Garcia, claiming *his lawyers haven't said he has to.* Either Trump is knowingly flouting SCOTUS or his lawyers have deceived him. Exchange w/ @speechboy71.bsky.social: newrepublic.com/article/1945...

TELSEY begins tracking price increases over the past week. Some highlights: * Abercrombie jeans: up 33% * Amazon Echo: up 38.5% * Target / Barbie doll: up 42.9%

I really wish reporters would stop saying that there is an effort by the Trump administration to combat antisemitism. It is quite the opposite. There is an effort to foment antisemitism. forward.com/fast-forward...

BREAKING: The ACLU says the Trump administration has deported three U.S. citizen children.

SCOOP: three days after Kilmar Abrego García’s family sued the govt for his wrongful deportation, US officials began working on plan to fix the mistake and ensure his safety in El Salvador until they could bring him back. Then the Trump administration dug in www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

I have a bipartisan bill that would make these protections ironclad. It passed the House unanimously (twice) and it was never taken up in the Senate. Now Trump is laying the groundwork to lock up reporters who don't rat out their sources who expose crimes by his administration.

Seeing claims about the judge "hiding" the defendant. Read the complaint, folks (written by DOJ). The guy was literally in the public area where the agents were. I guess he got on an elevator before they could get to him. The complaint says after letting the defendant exit she came back to the bench

Someone should ask Homan if it would be ok to send him to a gulag if a completely different white guy he has nothing to do with commits murder bsky.app/profile/atru...

Corrupt ChatGPT Abuser candidate Andrew Cuomo is also incompetent. www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

I filmed this yesterday on my way to Lousiana where my constituent Rümeysa Öztürk is being wrongfully held by ICE. I’m there now demanding her release. More to come.

You up @governor.ny.gov?

The NYC council voting for this downgrade was just such an own goal.

It’s not just Kilmar Obrego Garcia. ICE is disappearing innocent people in NYC too.

God love Ryan Coogler for taking his clout from Black Panther and David Zaslav’s money to make a horny, gory, morally grey, politically complicated, very funny original adult art movie shot on IMAX 65mm for real—that a bunch of industry insiders were rooting for to fail.

Hate it when they have me quoting people like David Brooks and Justice Scalia

vance going to the vatican and the pope sending jeremy from human resources to meet with him is such a fucking dagger

This must be some sort of phishing scam, no way I’m going to click on this link

Whoops! We accidentally sent you the draft fascist announcement. Please stay tuned for the official version

It looks like the administration’s efforts to snatch Venezuelan immigrants and dump them in an El Salvadoran penal colony before the courts intervene have finally sparked solid pushback from a 7-2 Supreme Court www.nytimes.com/live/2025/04...

WATCH: Chris Newman is an attorney who traveled with Sen. Van Hollen to El Salvador. Before he left, Rep. Jim McGovern told him, “This is the first time that if something were to happen while people are down there, the U.S. government is not going to help us.”

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

With these posts, they’ve made it essentially inarguable that they’re deliberately defying the Supreme Court.

That seems fine

Folks are missing this: When Salvadoran VP said to Sen Van Hollen that Trump is paying them to hold migrants, he wrecked WH scam by revealing that of course Bukele would release Abrego Garcia if Trump asked. Talked about this w/ @melissagiragrant.com. Transcript: newrepublic.com/article/1940...

🚨BREAKING: Trump's IRS nominee Billy Long just had his personal debt paid off by donors whose firms have business before the tax agency he’d lead, according to documents reviewed by The Lever. If confirmed, Long would be able to do favors for the donors. www.levernews.com/trump-irs-pi...

And notice how the rhetoric has shifted from deporting criminals to deporting all migrants. They use the claim of MS-13 to bash liberals in the prominent cases, but quickly shift to the "millions" of migrants in this country who have not committed any crimes who must be deported.

Just a reminder how classic what we're seeing is: 1. redefine a group as a threat to civilization 2. reduce legal protections that they enjoy 3. abuse, threaten, harm, and/or relocate them 4. dismiss/ignore concerns about abuses and harms from the process 5. repeat steps 2-4, escalating each time

Okay, cards on the table: I refuse to be concerned. Because I believe, in the pit of my soul, that being concerned creates a permission structure not to express one’s views to protect oneself. I don’t think we’re there, but even if I did, I wouldn’t act like it.

I hate to be that guy, but this is the five-alarm fire, and every elected Democrat and frankly, every Washington reporter should be ringing the bell. If it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone. Nobody with a voice should give this administration a moment’s peace about it.

Ah the kind of Making America Great again where the president of El Salvador wipes his ass with the flag and the constitution in the Oval Office, got it

Bring back *everyone* who was sent from the U.S. to CECOT in El Salvador. *No one* should be sent there. ALL their rights were violated. ALL of them should come home.

They’re using the hostages to try and justify their anti-democratic movement. Not in our name

And every single institution under threat—especially universities and law firms—should band together and use their collective power to fight. Due process is the issue to unite around. Immoral and likely illegal, but also bad for national security and propensity. Every American will suffer harm.

As with the EOs concerning elections, immigration and naturalization is categorically NOT an Article II power. To do this, the executive branch will undoubtedly try to hang its hat on some delegated authority by Congress. The focus now should be on clawing those delegated authorities back

This chaos will keep hurting the American people. Maybe the President is looking for an exit ramp. Maybe he's not. Either way, this will only end when Congress reins Trump in.

U.S. media remains totally snowed by bad faith arguments. Trump officials want to use a collapse to consolidate political power, forcing companies to come to them for special favors and punishing blue states when their leaders fight back. It’s a shakedown.

Sociopath

Trump’s advice while he tanks the economy? Cool vibes. No strategy. No empathy. No clue.
