Apropos of nothing… but forced RTO for remote teams are soft layoffs in 2025

"I asked ChatGPT, and--" ...the ghost of Ada Lovelace appeared and punched you in the face, I hope.

As someone who works in the nonprofit world, shit like this is why younger people prefer to donate to things like personal GoFundMe accounts rather than 501c3 nonprofit orgs. It's FAR too easy to pull bullshit like this and it puts a stain on the reputation of legitimate nonprofits

We're not ready to add another furry friend quite yet (and we're probably going to get a dog first) but this shelter has the best cat names. Meet Toytathon, Cheesy Rollup, Catnip Everdeen, and Go Gurt.

Okay, normally I don't do this shit because it's usually not funny, but I laughed for about ten minutes because mine would be "Pope Uncrustable V"

rejected titles for “conclave”: - sunday in the park with pope - popelight express - hamilpope - little pope of horrors - popelahoma! - merrily we pope along - lend me a pope! - la cage aux popes - joseph and the amazing technicolor dreampope - popewig and the angry inch - mamma mia!

me: I'm done with the pope posts conservatives: we are having the worst day of our lives, woke marxist pope will give your kids gun control & health care in their sleep me: I would like a few more pope posts

A Chicago Pope implies the existence of an MLA Pope and APA Pope

Popewatch always reminds me of the fact that I am distantly related to someone who could have been in the running for the papacy if he'd ever been elevated to cardinal. However, said person also helped cover up church sex abuse scandals so probably for the best that he never moved beyond bishop.

filling time on air until the new pope is announced is known as "pontiffication"

the best way I can describe my craft studio is like...think of your worst ADHD doom pile, and now turn that into a 12x30 room full of 15+ years of sewing/crafting supplies. I've absolutely considered hiring a professional organizer to sort it all out b/c some days it sends me into a full-on spiral

in other news, I am once again attempting to unfuck my craft room and having to face the fact that I have Too Much Stuff. I've already decluttered quite a bit thanks to the destash market I did earlier in the year but it feels like I barely made a dent in the chaos.

(tw: pet death) Finally got Mindy's ashes back from the vet, so now all three of our girls are together again. Commissioned a friend to make me a frame for their collars and I'm looking to find a local woodworker to make a custom urn w/ space for all three of them + one photo I have of them together

*me, lying facedown on the bed, yelling into the mattress: "WHY DO THOSE OF US WHO DIDN'T FUCK AROUND ALSO HAVE TO FIND OUT"

straight up attacked lol @cabell.bsky.social @samhainpress.bsky.social

they tried to take our ✨sparkle emoji✨ and now people are saying the em dash — the PATRON SAINT OF AUTISTIC OVEREXPLAINERS EVERYWHERE, which you literally only need to type the hyphen twice and it’ll autocorrect itself — is an “obvious” sign of a/i use??? get the FU-HUH-HUCK OUT OF MY FACE WITH THAT

I check the little screen, I check the big screen, I check the watch screen, I check the tablet screen. I check the screen that reminds me of the good times, I check the screen that reminds me of the better times.

In an attempt to not have my entire feed be sad posts about my cat...let me introduce you to my city's current obsession: an abandoned boat. Nicknamed "The Minnow" by the local press, the boat ran aground in mid-October in Milwaukee, near Bradford Beach in Milwaukee.

I think the part about grief I hate the most is how it's just weird little things that set you off, like the realization that I can close my bedroom door at night because there's no cat that needs to get in anymore.

She's gone. We tried, but she was done and it was time. The house is empty and so is my heart.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times using gifs. (“Hard mode” = no Star Wars, Star Trek, or LOTR)

MADISON, Wis. – Yesterday, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and other publications reported that Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan apparently attempted to protect a defendant from ICE agents trying to detain that defendant. (1/6)

We’re at the arresting judges stage of fascism.
