Dismissed police officer now standing as Reform UK candidate Read this. Sounds like a nice guy... www.bathecho.co.uk/news/politic...

The European Union has given the green light to post-Brexit youth visas with the UK, after member states approved talks on how they would work in practice. Campaigners welcomed what they hailed as a “massive step forward for young people in the UK” 👏 www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

I cannot emphasize enough how needlessly cruel the UK immigration system is to ordinary people who want a family life together and aren't well-off already, and anyone wanting to make it worse should be shunned.

Tonight, I'll go home and sleep in my bed. I have a lawyer, I'll get due process. But Edgardo, whose arm was ripped from mine by ICE agents, has none of those things. That's why I'll keep coming back to court, week after week, to make sure that people's rights are protected.

New in PN: Judge rules that anti-woke is just racism “'I’ve never seen a record where racial discrimination was so palpable,' Judge Young fumed. 'I’ve sat on this bench now for 40 years. I’ve never seen government racial discrimination like this.' *More of this, please*"

America is one of those countries where if you host a global sporting event, inclusive messages have to be censored to so as not to anger the central government. In this case the message is “racism is bad” www.nytimes.com/athletic/643...

This is not normal. A sitting president refusing to call the governor of a state after two elected officials were shot, one fatally, is beyond words. A typical president, regardless of politics, would pick up the phone. Offer condolences.

This US correspondent on the BBC seems to be full-on MAGA.

I wish the USA had respected Jimmy Carter more than they had. He was an amazing man. He was probably the most honest president we have ever had.

I don’t know who made this but it sums things up very well.

Today marks nine years since Jo Cox was assassinated by a far-right extremist, a terrible loss to those who knew and loved her and to politics. Zero lessons were learned though and the far-right continues to be pandered to. With more political assassinations in the US it all feels too familiar.

America 2025.

Love this!!!

The joke of the weekend is going to be a man who was so scared that he had his daddy keep him from having to fight in a war...and is now having a military parade to try and convince people that he is brave. #BoneSpurs

Worth remembering.

NOW 326 DAYS since our nuclear test veterans - national heroes - requested a meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss how he will honour the commitment Labour made to them in opposition. How much longer must they wait?

BBC Newswatch desperately trying to justify their excessive exposure of ReformUK today, but every argument only supports the complaints. Of course, their support will grow if the other parties don't even get the airtime to promote their own policies! Absolutely outrageous bias from the BBC. 😡

As it was obvious they would. A huge waste of parents' money by lawyers who saw an easy payday.

This is the page in the history book where future generations may ask, “Why didn’t more people speak up?" Don’t let this slide.

Let me get this right. The new Reform U.K. Ltd chairman, NOT doctor David Bull went on GMB & said he once drove through a wood at night with a ghost in his boot - only to then bump into a medium who channelled his grandmother, the medium then morphed into an evil spirit which tried to strangle him.

From a dear comrade who was kind enough to let me share their video. Veterans stage a sit-in on the US Capitol steps and say, “Military off our streets!” Hell yeah!

Politico: Campaigners against the government imposing VAT on private school fees have lost their court battle to overturn the move. My snap analysis: haha! Full judgement here: www.judiciary.uk/judgments/al...

They should have told him they were still filming and that it was all being done with hidden cameras and left him to it

It's called getting tenure

"Leicestershire County Council's new Reform leadership has scrapped the authority's flag flying policy in its first cabinet meeting" Honestly, it really seems like the *only* thing Reform councils are doing is banning flags www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

In the past week, a union leader has been arrested, a U.S. Rep charged with a crime, a U.S. Senator violently handcuffed, and reporters shot with rubber bullets and detained. There is no ambiguity. This is a regime operating as an authoritarian. Americans who believe in liberty must oppose it.

As a US Marine Corps veteran, I am also saddened to see brave military patriots being used as political pawns! Troops and marines deeply troubled by LA deployment: ‘Morale is not great’ - The Guardian www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

As imports of meat from Australia and NZ rise, we should remember that the terrible one-sided trade deals we signed will abolish all tariffs on Australian and NZ beef and lamb in steps over 10 years. So it's only going to get harder for British farmers. www.theguardian.com/food/2025/ju...

Stoke fear. Exploit desperation. Suspend the rule of law. Fan brutality. Every time the stronger brutalize the weak, it’s fundamentally the same playbook. Our duty is to stand up to brutality. Our moral obligation is to protect the vulnerable and hold the powerful accountable.

There is very broad approval of Billy Boston receiving the first ever rugby league knighthood. A great of the game for Wigan and a pioneering black sportsman too www.express.co.uk/sport/rugby-...

An apology. Yesterday, I suggested on this site that sooner or later, Reform's new chairman, David Bull, would make an absolute turnip of himself. I was wrong. There was no "later" to it.

New in PN: ABC is too cowed to state the obvious about Stephen Miller "Miller and Trump are hateful bigots. Independent journalists can still say that. Journalists at ABC can’t, because the president gets a veto over their coverage. That’s not democracy and it’s not a free press. It’s fascism."

Not a doctor. Not a scientist. No. A longtime heroin addict and current steroid enthusiast who perjured himself in confirmation hearings in order to pursue a twisted agenda that will kill more Americans than Osama Bin Laden.

CNN’s Jason Carroll was zip-tied and escorted away—for reporting the news. But they claimed he wasn’t under arrest? Why are they shooting rubber bullets at and silencing journalists? We still have a First Amendment.

"Trump has taken what was scarcely a powder keg and packed it with explosives. It is unclear if Trump has any idea how dangerous his actions are. Indeed, the president’s grip on reality is so loose that it is not obvious that he truly realises the potential human cost of his delusional games."

BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.” They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

When did you ever hear the BBC stating that it must alter “story selection” and “other types of output, such as drama”, to win the trust of Green voters, or of unrepresented people on the left? All the shifts are in just one direction. bylinetimes.com/2025/06/09/b...

Let this sink in. Even the Los Angeles Police Chief, Jim McDonnell, made it clear: the people protesting immigration raids were not the ones causing violence. During a Sunday evening press conference, McDonnell condemned the violence as “disgusting”

As a current tourist in LA, I feel like I need to say, despite what you may be seeing on the news, the city has not descended into chaos and mayhem. Yes, there are protests that have escalated due to the deployment of armed forces against them. But it didn't need to come to that.

This administration needs to stop targeting international reporters, they’re the ones helping spread the truth. In multiple videos, officers are seen aiming directly at them, fully aware they’re members of the press. These so-called “non-lethal” rounds can absolutely be lethal.

Those concerned about violence might want to start with violence against immigrants, by ICE here, by illegal deportations to gulags and third countries, the violence against so many federal departments, against the law, the climate, the public lands, waters, civil rights, reproductive rights...

One for historians. A piece of genius.😂

In order to eliminate any inconvenience to cars, we’ve made it illegal for children to be children

Amazing. Respect the lede.

Surely if prospects are this good for this research then she could have her pick of alternative funders outside the country. Still awful dislocation for her but from the pov of the world the case would be overwhelming.

The right-wing Blue Labour faction who have enormous influence over Keir Starmer are advising him to go all-in on US-style culture war bollocks by "rooting out DEI" to pander to Reform voters. There are multiple reasons that this is a deeply stupid and reactionary strategy.
