I'm getting old... I managed to lose my glasses somewhere in Nottingham today. I'm someone who never loses anything, so I'm absolutely distraught.

A lovely session tonight with the @batchbunch.dev crew! I had some great feedback on a brand, website and packaging design I'm working on. It was great hearing about other folks' more crafty projects too 😄 Plus... cupcakes!

If a client asks me what their design would look like in liquid glass I'm gonna quit.

When you get back to your car with 30 seconds left on the parking and there are two disappointed parking wardens standing on the opposite side of the road. Hah fuck off ya vultures.

I've managed to add a screen accurate Rose Tyler jacket to my collection off vinted tonight. That is so rare these days, I'm happy 😊

I'm going to watch Doctor Who in the cinema tonight and I'm ELATED. I have never been to a cinema event for Doctor Who before!

working on web accessibility will radicalize you in the same way that riding your bike in the US will radicalize you; you realize how many people are actively hostile toward even basic accommodations

More lino print fun!

This can't be a real example. This can't be a real example. This can't be a real example.

Happy Friday all you lovely people. Did you know we're back (did you think we wouldn't be!?). Our CFP opens today: ffconf.org/cfp - and includes tonnes of details. Early access tickets being announced soon too so watch out!

A paddle to the pub in 3 parts

It's global accessibility awareness day! Yesterday I spoke about why it's so important, video here for anybody who fancies a watch: www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_FX...

If your first reaction to someone trying to educate you that most screen readers can’t read misused Unicode symbols the same way sighted people can is to say “screen readers should be better”, I humbly submit that the situation might be more complicated than you think it is.

This is a banger of a post regarding alt text! 👊 I always think there's such a good balance between using alt text purely as a joke (something that got quite old on Tw*tter and wasn't accessible), and using it to explain and add to a joke like the example @bryn.codes shows from @strange.website

Lino print class again tonight. Would it be wild if I carved some Comic Sans? Because I really want to...

We’re trying a rather radical new approach at Piccalilli by doing real world projects — for real clients — in the open. This gives us a context to provide genuine high quality, real world education for free at the point of entry.

I got to tell everybody how great Jeff is today. Nah just kidding, but he is the best ❤️ I spoke about accessibility and why it's so important at @notts.techfa.st as part of The Nottingham Tech for Good festival. Slides here if anybody wants :) www.figma.com/deck/30hMTpB...

Let me see if I've got this right then... So far Reform UK* have decided that trans people and immigrants should fuck off. ! Oh sorry... that should read *Labour. What the hell is going on? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???

If someone kills me in a road rage incident, please do not make an AI version of me that says I forgive them for murdering me at their trial. What is going on?

Early bird tickets for this are so well priced, just sayin' 👀 Can't wait 😊

Debuting a new talk next week! I'm very excited :)

I'm doing some evening classes in Lino Printing at the moment and I'm kinda obsessed with this one I did last night. Moving digital into lino was fun, cutting it was challenging, and the final print is cool. However I didn't ink it enough, it'll get a reprint next week.

I got a lot of respect for dafont.com for never switching up in over two decades.

"This actual manifestation - often at the expense of our own personal reward - is the only thing that wins out against a matrix of incentives that otherwise arc towards the seductive pull of our darker and more selfish nature." Real.
