how long does the boycott last when people just want the cars they want?

still baffles me that NASA, and even the DoD, engaged in this relationship with SpaceX where the US government did so much business with one supplier for so long...

America is a joke without a punchline

anyone ever heard of contractual obligations? www.cnbc.com/2025/06/05/m...

the inbox is HILARIOUS right now. texts / dm's more hilarious. but ouch.

If this ever happens, it will be due to Martin Eberhard, Tesla's founding CEO and inventor of core tech in Tesla EVs, raising the issue in his lawsuit after Musk ousted him from the co. iirc @plainsite.org made those legal records available + @washingtonpost.com did *outstanding* in-depth reporting.

comparative case studies.

🧐

in a seemingly masterful stroke, elon has disenfranchised two completely opposite tesla brand loyalty followers in just 6 months

let's think about this, shall we?

Musk was supposed to be "focused" on Tesla after his DOGE special government employee period ended. Today, the company shed $152 billion in market cap (its worst single day hit ever) after Musk feuded with Trump. www.cnbc.com/2025/06/05/t...

NOW WHAT?

Tesla shares tank 13% as Musk-Trump feud escalates... www.cnbc.com/2025/06/05/t...

I had to buy a Musk understander a beer (Milk Truck Latte Stout) because the flame wars arrived today. I didn't think a bromance divorce would happen until Trump and Musk lack any mutual use to one another.

DEAN: What's the tariff on bananas? LUTNICK: Generally 10% DEAN: Walmart has already increased the cost of bananas by 8% LUTNICK: If you build in America, there is no tariff DEAN: We cannot build bananas in America

This is the most soap operatic day on the Tesla beat since Musk ran lottery style giveaways to entice voters to elect Trump...

LMAO

Here it is: Musk thinks he is owed a say in Trump’s policy because of how much he spent on the campaign.

the infighting theory...

yep.

It's strategically advantageous for Musk to look independent from Trump and vice versa now. They did their 130 days of DOGE. IMO they remain mutually useful. Going to be a strange time figuring out how deep the divide is. If Trump ever takes action that hits Musk materially, divorce complete.

"Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore. I was surprised." (developing story by Daniel Mangan @cnbc.com ) www.cnbc.com/2025/06/05/t...

haaa

1. President Trump is using various crypto schemes to shamelessly exploit the presidency for personal profit. So why did 16 Senate Democrats provide crucial votes to advance legislation to make these schemes MORE PROFITABLE FOR TRUMP? Follow the money.

🧵: In October, NHTSA announced that it had identified four reports under the standing general order "in which a Tesla vehicle experienced a crash with FSD-Beta or FSD-Supervised engaged." In one of the crashes, the Tesla vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian." static.nhtsa.gov/odi/inv/2024...

For @techpolicypress.bsky.social , I tried to connect some dots between AI-related energy investments and other technofascist attempts at concentrating power through land and resources, from nuclear startups to network cities Thanks @justinhendrix.bsky.social @megyoung0.bsky.social for the edits

it's disaster season, and folks are — understandably — worried about what it's going to look like with cuts at federal agencies. i wrote up a little how-to guide on things you can do to prepare and what to keep an eye on:

The Bureau of Labor Statistics is cutting back its collection of data on consumer prices, raising questions about the reliability of federal economic statistics under President Trump. #EconSky www.nytimes.com/2025/06/04/b...

The question is indeed raised and the easy answer is: all politicians lie but even more so than what we are accustomed to, it is the correct and perfectly reasonable position to take that when it comes to what this administration says or does, the response is: Do Not Trust; Verify.

BREAKING: The U.S. government says 247,000 people applied for unemployment benefits last week, the most in eight months.

My brother couldn’t learn to speak until he got ear tubes. I’m going to trust the actual experts over the weird grifters who laundered a preexisting, outlandishly-conspiratorial, antivaxx screed advocating for a return to 19th century medical practices through ChatGPT and called it “the MAHA report”

Ukraine's Operation Spiderweb was not only a success for Kyiv but a wake-up call for the West to bolster its air defense systems against drone warfare. “How many targets are there in a country? How well can you defend every single one of them against a threat like that?” apnews.com/article/russ...
