Currently OBSESSED with binging The Pitt Damn this is well-written tv

1. Tomorrow's my birthday and here's a gift you can get for me: Buy a small creator's work. Local band, indie writer, up-and-coming visual artist, that crafter down the street, or whomever. Your support matters to them, especially in this economic/social environment. And you deserve some joy, too.

I've almost never worked for a bad boss. (Had a bad mid-level manager at one point, many years ago, and that taught me a lot of valuable lessons.) (Have a great boss now.) This is still a FANTASTIC read about how to handle someone that you just can't stand ... cruciallearning.com/blog/when-yo...

If you’re a fan of Martha Wells’s awesome Murderbot series (TV series coming soon!!), this is a great read by her about the character and how much this story means to her marthawells.dreamwidth.org/649804.html #murderbot

"Bad shape" www.wrecka.ge/bad-shape/ Good read on why social media platforms struggle to be “not evil”

Fantastic content here.

Played the game, now gonna read the book!! #scifi #sundayread

Just finished The Invincible. Greatly enjoyed it. 7 hrs. Definitely recommend the game to anyone seeking a single player sci fi experience. Just play it, don’t read about it or lots of spoilers. Better to just dive in. All choices in the game are meaningful. I am satisfied with my ending.

Dead Internet Theory speedrun!

Pope Francis is the best pope of my entire several decades on this planet.

We do not have to take Trump’s bait on DEI, because they do not care about some policies being “problematic.” They are disengenously using DEI to target civil rights protections, DEI is a prextext, and it is not reasonable to concede they have a point when it only helps their reactionary push.

The Invincible (video game) is GREAT. Single player and story driven. Moves more slowly than a typical modern game but I’ve really been digging it!

This thread and the piece at the end are incredible. SCOTUS ruled just before 1am and Chris wrote a thread through the night and published a full, polished analysis at 4:41am. I must note that Chris wrote this on the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride — to the hour.

In chill news for today: ☀️the weather is gorgeous 🎮 I just picked up The Invincible, a sci fi 1P video game based on a Stanislaw Lem novel, made by a Polish dev 📖 I’m reading a George Orwell essay and he’s always great 🔥 I launched a basic app this week - my first! Happy weekend!

100% no disagreement here. If you don’t understand that due process for EVERYONE on American soil is bedrock to our constitutional republic, you should not be in our government at ANY level. Primary every single one of these people.

Love to see it!

RE: 'why small-town red America believes what it believes' discourse again, it's worth noting that the political trajectory of white rural America is as much a function of the top-down nationalization of media & political worldview formation as the bottom-up consequences of broad economic changes

Trump used the official White House account to post this on #GoodFriday. As a devout Christian, I am disgusted with something so cruel on the day Christ was tortured and crucified. Furthermore, to use the phrase “He’s never coming back” two days before Easter seems targeted at believers.

With love to the Linux folks, and for the record, I am Linux-certified, the entire "linux is better" discourse is exhausting. I work in higher education and most of my students use Win or Mac. I've got a guy right now who's using Linux and Libre Office etc., and every paper is his nightmare:

Highly recommend reading this piece on the real effect on creatives when their company starts requiring them to use AI in the process: ‘An Overwhelmingly Negative And Demoralizing Force’: What It’s Like Working For A Company That’s Forcing AI On Its Developers - aftermath.site/ai-video-gam...

This is sum bullshiiit that’s for sure

So Musk's DOGE is reportedly using AI to scan federal employee communications for "anti-Trump" sentiment, while also using Signal to potentially evade record-keeping laws? This sounds less like efficiency and more like a politically motivated surveillance operation.

Sure, Kamala Harris would have have preserved our global power and domestic prosperity. But she would have done so as a Black woman. by Pete Hegseth and Stephen Miller

At least there’s some good sci fi on the way in 2025 www.theverge.com/news/645746/...

Her crime? saying diversity is our strength on LinkedIn. She also said one time in a speech that “empowering women unlocks human potential.” This new McCarthyism hates women. A new “pinko” to despise? Every GOP voter: you OWN THIS. This is YOUR destruction. You *hate* women. And progress.

here’s a curse word free version of “look it up” as requested by countless teachers and librarians 🥰😘

YouTube's decision prompted concern from LGBTQ+ advocates who warn the change removes clarity around protections for transgender and nonbinary users.

I have tariffed the penguins that are on Heard Island and which you were probably assuming did not export goods forgive me they were taking advantage of us so cunning and so cold

"We cannot overstate what has just happened. It took just 71 days for Donald Trump to wreck the American economy, mortally wound NATO, and destroy the American-led world order" from @jvl.bsky.social www.thebulwark.com/p/the-americ...

Republicans keep saying 'immigrants who commit crimes don't get due process' and that is very much not how due process works and for very good reasons! like keeping people from being randomly abducted and shipped to an El Salvadoran prison! ballsandstrikes.org/legal-cultur...

In positive news, had great Korean bim-bip-bap today! (Sorry for the misspelling here’s a photo for penance)

About the best idea I’ve seen so far. (Not much in mine, haven’t had the courage to even go look.)

I wonder how many people realize the tariff on auto parts causes car insurance premiums to go up?

lol 8 yrs too late guys!

Again I must state that growing up as a kid under the threat of nuclear annihilation, I did not expect the end of America to be sheer idiocy married to greed. I mean I probably should have, but I was 10. This admin js just evil wrapped in Jesus-apocalyptic clothes, riding on racism AND greed.
