Colin, Josh, and I had a great chat with @persistentworld.bsky.social for @mmorpg.com about the studio, GW2's staying power, and the state of the industry among other topics. Give it a read if so inclined. www.mmorpg.com/interviews/i...

Bold choices — very “Hector of Troy YouTube music video edit with Evanescence and/or Linkin Park” energy. IYKYK

Friends! (And please just mutuals) We're hiring at Owlchemy! We're looking for... - Automated Test Engineer (contract) - Executive Assistant II Lemme know if you fit either of these roles and DM me. apply.workable.com/owlchemy-labs/

A lot of people think the 1983 US console crash happened because the games were bad. That's not it though! It happened because management overprojected growth/sales and sent the industry into a tailspin. Maybe sounds familiar!

Think this might be the longest interview we’ve publish in the almost six years since I took over MMORPG. Thanks so much to the @guildwars2.com team for talking with us and @persistentworld.bsky.social for putting together.

Legion brings the hotly-anticipated Freelancer system to the @eveonline.com universe, two massive new battle ships and new updates that streamline the alliance and corporate experience. www.mmorpg.com/news/eve-onl...

Evo Moment 37 would like a word.

I have largely been checked out of the PvMP scene for more than a decade at this point because it just stopped feeling dynamic. I'm so happy to see it start getting some love again, and maybe - just maybe - I'll come back to it soon.

Should have watermarked the cards - if you're going to share our coverage, at least have the decency to link to us, Redditors.

Going into the second half of the year and gearing up to tackle SGF! If you got in you for a one-time donation or a sub to @butwhytho.net that'd be very dope of you to do to help us keep chugging along! 💜👇🏾💜👇🏾💜

We revealed a Cactuar today - and it might be the first time I seriously think about building green for myself in quite a while...

My hands are covered in fountain pen ink. Leif would be proud.

If you missed me, @awildjessichu.bsky.social, and @lotrlore.bsky.social getting absolutely DEVASTATED by the legend @bigmanfanelli.bsky.social in Magic the Gathering Commander, VOD here: youtu.be/sezDKn_1m0s

ARE YOU F*CKING READY WOW COMMUNITY?! Tomorrow's about to be a community changing event. You better prep those cheeks!!!

Leif, circa 2017, while we were playing ESO one night on Discord. He was a rare breed, indeed.

I Leaned so heavily on Leif for the single WoW review I did at IGN in between these eras. Even then I never felt I measured up, despite his confidence in me. I can say he was always impressed by your coverage, Len when it would come up in conversation. Carrying the torch well, my friend

I want to retroactively dedicate every bit of WoW coverage I've done to Leif, because he was "the WoW guy" at IGN before me. And when that responsibility, which I consider a huge honor, fell to me, I knew I had a high bar to clear. I knew I needed to be as good as him, which seemed impossible.

I can still hear Leif saying “Delicious!” In this picture. He spent Thanksgiving with us this past year, ending the weekend at Fukuburger, getting his in-game namesake: Chicken Katsu.

This is incredibly touching. Leif used to talk about hanging out with you quite a bit, and was constantly telling me how excited he was to be editing your book. He would have adored this, Wes.

I can't pitch people on supporting independent media without shouting out my friends at But Why Tho? Not only do you get fascinating criticism of the gaming landscape, but their knowledge of film and TV is on another level. For me, they're essential tastemakers of international entertainment

I used to tell Leif all the time that he led the most interesting life I’d ever encountered. This touching obit sums up just how remarkable that life was, and what an incredible a human being the world has lost. www.after.com/obituaries/j...

I was playing PUBG with Leif one week ago…

I spent my Saturday at PAX East last week filming social content with @kennyomega.bsky.social and Adam Cole for their collaboration with @magic.wizards.com at the MTG Final Fantasy panel and subsequent meet and greet. Great event and awesome dudes! www.instagram.com/reel/DJ5cnaa...

Any streamers going to TwitchCon San Diego that have streamed VR games and would like to potentially be on a panel that @dirtyeffinhippy.lianaruppert.com and I are submitting? Slide into my DMs, please :D

The last thing Leif texted our group chat was a video about a comedian pointing out an absurdity about San Francisco. I remember when Leif first moved there and how amazingly happy he was to be in the Bay Area. He loved SF and all the history, nature and the significance it held on the West Coast.

I had an article idea that I wanted to bounce off of Leif today, so I rushed to my phone to text him...only to remember that he's gone. His advice and experience was so valuable, and I'm going to miss being able to sharpen and refine ideas with him.

what's great about taking my time to write some news pieces is that responses like mypunkco's shitpost finally show up

It was entirely too windy this day, but even after hiking Muir Woods that morning, Leif indulged me and we went up to the summit of the mountain his place in SF was sat upon.

Idk why saying gaming shouldn't only be for the wealthy is a controversial thing

When Leif gave me this M2 MBA a few years ago, he told me I could take the stickers off and make it my own. I’m so glad I didn’t. I’ve added a few of my own, but the majority of these are Leif’s, and speaks to his personality in major ways. I miss you, dude.

Missing you, Leif. It still hasn’t fully hit me yet, I don’t think.
