From the country that tried to give you Boaty Mc Boatface, behold this gem. It's stuff like this that truly defines 'Britishness'.

Compare Vonnegut buying an envelope with this tech bro running from his life

I’M FURIOUS! 😡 Labour cosying up to the EU. Not only will our sausages suffer but we could also lose: Our pints of wine Our 40 new hospitals Our freedom Our clams Our queues at border control Our freedom Our sunlit uplands The Britishness of our fish Our freedom & our freedom!🤬

This is bloody brilliant. Worthy of Private Eye.

Rinse and repeat for the foreseeable future.

🔴‘The Media Is Silent About Female Asylum Seekers – Yet Fixated About Men Arriving in the UK’ There’s a reason news outlets never focus on the many women seeking refuge in the UK, argue Mathilda Mallinson and Helena Wadia bylinetimes.com/2025/04/22/i...

General reminder that nobody "owes" you a debate on their identity. What minorities hear when you are "just trying to have a discussion" or "playing devil's advocate" about their rights is what you actually mean: "you owe it to me to justify why you should be seen as equal".

Last month I did a little experiment. I wanted to see how the exact same post would perform on both X (Twitter) and Bluesky. The results were...interesting... [Thread]

This is truly shameful. Even China and Iran abstained. The US has put itself in the company of some of the worst states in the world - Russia, Belarus, North Korea. Hungary showing its true colours as Russia's Trojan horse in the EU as well.

Upon this response, JK burst into a million shards and a great wind scattered her unhappy soul beneath the arc of a newly formed rainbow.

We're a cut price Avengers.

No skin in any of the FA Cup games, but it's lovely to watch without bloody VAR ruining it.

wall street, working to elect a senile fascist: Haha fuck yeah!!! Yes!! wall street, being governed by a senile fascist: Well this fucking sucks. What the fuck.

In 1999 I sat in a cinema confused about what tariffs had to do with the rise of a fascist empire. “Turmoil has engulfed the Galactic Republic. The taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems is in dispute…”

A reminder that Trump, the luckiest man on earth, like in 2017, is inheriting a strong, growing economy with months & months of job growth & growing real wages (even though most Americans don’t know it!), & will almost certainly 1) take credit for it and 2) screw it all up again.

Renters Rights Bill passed the Commons this week. It hugely empowers tenants & guarantees several new rights, incl protection against no-fault eviction & cap on upfront rent. On the day, the press focused on a supposed market panic that has now been entirely negated open.substack.com/pub/theleadu...

We need friends, neighbours kids work colleagues to wise up about the urgency. media to report honestly. politicians to push for Net Zero nationally & internationally. The best time to start was 50 years ago. The next best is NOW. @mp-fossilfree.bsky.social @mvtfwd.bsky.social @

It's not madness or senility that drives Trump and his incoming administration. It's interests.
