I was thinking more of 'Casino Protectionism' but that will do as well.

At the heart of every attack on disability benefits is the myth disabled people “get perks”: a free car, loads of cash, a life off work. It misrepresents the reality of disability, whilst exploiting low wages and high living costs to make the public envy people in daily pain.

The real issue is that they may not need a new amendment. The twenty-second amendment prohibits him from being *re-elected as president* for a third time, not from running again as vice-president and from being *appointed* as president if the newly elected president steps down.

I don't know about the midterm elections, but my sense is that we will soon discover that the twenty-second amendment is not that big of an obstacle against a third Trump term.

As the Assad regime is crumbling, it's a good moment to remind people about what the current Italian government plus 7 other EU governments were trying to do until recently (normalising relations with Assad to send migrants back to "safe zones" in Syria). www.politico.eu/article/eu-m...

In different ways, both his admirers and his detractors are influenced by the myth of Kissinger, not so much the real Kissinger, who was in fact far less impressive, much less in control or in the lead, not so much the Realist he pretended to be. www.politico.com/news/magazin...
