Shop's looking good. Sat sitting doing spreadsheets today. (I can say things on here I wouldn't even attempt with my lisp)

Rushed off my feet. Heard myself grumbling about it. How ungrateful! After all I've done for me. #smallbusiness #thecheek

Finally Mr B is back in the shop. Wary, disorientated, wondering where all the crisps went. A bit of book-hunting and organising pics for me. Back in tomorrow.

And today, on what would be his 103rd birthday, we celebrate Cushing’s eternal partner in crime and fellow horror and genre giant, the utterly magnificent Sir Christopher Lee 🖤

Not a vampire film this week but: Frankenstein & the Monster From Hell. Peter Cushing's last role as the Baron. I noticed he looked quite Grand Moff (apart from the wig) and then realised it was only four years later at the most, that he filmed Star Wars.

On the anniversary of his birth, remembering the phenomenal Peter Cushing (1913-1994). An actor of style, intelligence, and meticulous preparation. Best remembered, today, for his work for Hammer, he was a truly versatile performer and a fine comic foil for both Laurel & Hardy and Morecambe & Wise.

Just been into town and someone has painted the stone on this beautiful 1700s building GREY. I suspect either my Mum or my Dad.

Remembering the wonderful actor Peter Cushing on what would have been his 112th birthday🕯️ #DoctorWho #StarWars

One month on from replacing my bad lawn with a Poundland box of flower seeds. The bees are going to love it!

The end of a decent Saturday. plenty of comic hunters from out of town; some locals visited on the back of my social media posts & the shop got compliments. A good way to end the week. With the door open, I've overheard the dismissive comments too! I can only get my head down & improve where I can.

Giving some attention and promotion to the local small-press section. By tomorrow I'll have done 2 weeks of 6 days on my own. I keep telling myself to focus. A different area of the business each day.

Not Our Cat #3

Caught a bus to play in the waves at Heysham. Pics by my daughter. We had the beach to ourselves this evening.

George came George saw George Wendt 💜

Making comic box labels. I prefer marker-pen over any kind of effort, usually.

This week's 'vampire' film, 1968. Not exactly vampire but it's a rock monster that feeds off the chemicals of people in extreme fear whilst running around in their knickers but anyway Boris Karloff did this with one working lung and it was his last film. 🏆

The supermarket watercress I put in here a few weeks ago. It's flowering!

Selling all my vinyl. All my vinyl is of the Dark Lord of Golf. Yes the paper knickers in the school desk are included. And the billion dollar note, much good it's done me.

My three new friends. Well done Lucy, for all you have achieved, they are saying.

Very hot day. Not seen anyone. COULD be at the beach... But COULD still be stuck in the accounts office of that timeshare company with Doreen's aggressive humming. No it's all good.

Visiting my neighbouring shop: The Old Sea Dog.

Sorting out Doctor Who cards, Pokemon already done. Bookkeeping updated yesterday.

We laughed all day, particularly when her Grandad rolled up to ask if we had anything "blue". Idiot.

This new work experience girl looks familiar.

Visiting Bolton, birthplace of Robert Shaw. And me. Also, 50 years of Jaws in December, which unfortunately.... means 50 years of my reign of terror ☹️

Encouraging news on the acting front. Means I'll be mostly on my own for a week or two, but I'll take that. He's still not been given a character name after 7 years though!

Back at work, bit of a restock on books & Pokemon cards, but mostly trying to update the shop's social media. Completely done with twitter but I've neglected a lot of other things.

More from today's bus adventure. Trying to save money by taking a flask of tea only resulted in a necessary pub visit. The River Bela looks promising for a swim but not much access here.

Bus adventure. Exploring Milnthorpe & Beetham, Cumbria. Up the limestone Fairy Steps to the top of Whin Scar. Pub. Also had a look at the beautiful River Bela for possible swimming but not sure yet.

Sorting through some of the art to fill up wall space. A productive day in the shop: more excavating, sorting, re-pricing. The stuff that builds up when you've only had half your mind on the job.

Struggling to hold it all together? Alice is having one of those days too. (Taking pics of toys today and sending out orders).

Clearing this today. Who would be daft enough to let any of this take hold? #flashbacksfromNam #itwasme
