Prediction: French gonna make a big comeback, we're entering a culturally Francophone era - dismissing stupid stuff, malaise et ennui, weird looks, "quietly poly" old school cheating, books, zouk, Caribbean European and African cultural & economic victories, c maintenant

hey, can one of the reasonable centrist writers condescendingly explain to me again that it is overblown to call these people segregationists?

When ordered by Nazis to give lists of disabled people by disability severity, some doctors sent back exaggerated data to protect patients from forced work They didn't know that the "most disabled" were to be killed first The moral here isn't to tell the truth It's to never co-operate with Nazis

help I’m bleeding out in front of two groups. One is yelling “thoughts and prayers” and the other is yelling “call your representatives”

i'm tired of being told to stop doomscrolling. i'm just scrolling, it's not my fault there's doom on there

Every time one of these corporations makes an announcement about rolling back DEI, we need to assume it's a business that is highly invested in our return to segregation. Then we direct our money elsewhere. Because no, it's not better for their bottom line to refuse people's money.

To instrumentalize what my sister is saying below: every time someone says DEI say “you mean civil rights?” Every time someone says they are against woke reply “oh so you’re a segregationist!” Words have meaning! Don’t allow that nonsense to stand.

biden isn’t special, we’re all saying farewell to the nation

does the Atlantic know it can hire Black writers too

some of the hardest places to unionize are nonprofits that are doing movement work. because people get confused about what the fuck is really going on…confusing shared values and “cool bosses” with workplace democracy

Police killed more people this year than any other year on record, killing 3.4 people per day nationwide. mappingpoliceviolence.us

The energy I’m taking into 2025

I'm glad Biden commuted the death sentences for 37 of 40 people on federal death row. Now he needs to pardon the 3000 people in prison for non-violent drug offenses, pardon Leonard Peltier & Steven Donziger, cancel student debt, & sign the ERA into law. Keep the pressure on him.

The existence of trans and queer people is not inappropriate for any age to know about

Cancelling $4T in taxes for 815 billionaires but not $1.7T in student debt for 40M Americans is the modern version of let them eat cake.

This. Definitely.

We shouldn’t accept that a CEO killer must get a national manhunt when cops don’t solve most murders at all. A migrant teenager was just murdered in NYC, cops just killed a guy here — the lives of these other people are worth just as much as that CEO.

Public library energy is the best energy. Like here is all the knowledge we could find, it's been meticulously organized and vetted and it will cost you nothing today, welcome to the absolute pinnacle of human civic evolution, feel free to pull up any bean bag chair you like

Been thinking a lot lately about that episode of Parks and Rec where Leslie and Tom have to rebrand fluoride in the water as TDazzle in order to get the public to support it.
