Hey British media, It’s no surprise that if you give Farage the run of the place, he’ll start winning. Time to do your actual jobs and start interrogating him on his Brexit shitshow, his funding, his Trumpiness, his idiotic manifesto, his real plans for the NHS… instead of drumrolling him into No.10

We must fight to save PBS and NPR.

What could be in store for the remaining 1361 days and 10 hours?https://bsky.app/profile/theguardian.com/post/3lnz7uvudul2i

Waking up to good news from šŸ Canada this morning. www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...

A truly stunning result for the Canadian Liberal Party. Mark Carney (with a lot of help from Donald Trump) has secured one of the greatest comebacks in electoral history. Liberals are up seats but so are the Conservatives. NDP rout. Libs likely a minority and will have to work with others.

ā€œWith Brexit, Farage helped embed the poor growth and state dysfunction that are even now providing fuel for his return.Britain has already spent one decade struggling to get by in the world Farage created. It can ill afford a secondā€ Ffs. How much failure can we take? economist.com/leaders/2025...

Bluesky is collegial and interesting, the way Twitter used to be. Bonus: most people can spell.

The IMF forecasts a major slowdown in the global economy due to Trump’s tariffs. UK likely to be hit harder than the rest of Europe. How TF is going cap in hand to the same guy to ask for some crappy not-worth-the-paper-it’s-written-on trade deal a sane solution? Come on UK. Work it out.

Not enjoying the JD Vance piece on #r4today.. ā€œThere was a strong sense he sees Britain as something rather different from Europe, wasn’t there?ā€ Of course. We’re much more desperate and exploitable on our own. Stop looking for a ā€˜special relationship’ in the fake flattery of ugly nationalists.

Feels almost cruel to point out that all the bollocks about our 10% tariffs being a 'Brexit benefit' lasted for about four days. But here we are...

Have to say that @faisalislam.bsky.social & @simonjackbbc.bsky.social are really helping me understand this madness. BBC at its best & most valuable.

Europeans don't need ugly American cars. They have governments that are forward-thinking, which provide buses, subways, and high-speed trains, unlike America, which would rather order another aircraft carrier it doesn't need than help its citizens get to work.

I mean… Isn’t that repulsive? On every level. Ignorantly and vindictively unleashes untold damage on the citizens of America and the world, shatters trust with America’s allies and cosies up to their enemies… then, without a care (or thought) in the world, spends the weekend playing golf.

CBC/Radio-Canada is a pillar of our Canadian identity.Ā  Ā  We’re going to strengthen our public broadcaster with more long-term funding, and a modernized mandate — to deliver more local news and keep Canadians better informed during emergencies.

Some good news ...if only for the RAF šŸ˜€ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Trump's tariff attacks on the UK will cost jobs and harm British business. We must put ourselves in the strongest position to protect our economy and boost growth. The best way to do that is a UK-EU Customs Union.

www.theguardian.com/politics/202... Only in the government’s minds is it a red line ! Not ours! Our elected representatives are NOT representing us. We must apparently continue to abide by the results of a corrupt referendum - even though only 11% of the population still want to be out of the EU.

Today is the 5th anniversary of the UK leaving the European Union. Successive UK governments have completely overlooked the power of European solidarity.
