I expect more days like today from SCOTUS, tbh. 1.) Sharp rebukes of the 5th circuit for being crazy pants. 2.) Some boring unanimous decision 3.) An awful decision written by Roberts sounding like he's the buddha of law.

i can't believe i'm reading this bullshit in SUPREME COURT OPINION

this applies with dobbs too, but it always aggressively pisses me off whenever a conservative majorities always act like they are doing a service to humanity when putting the rights of disadvantaged minorities in the hands of prejudiced majorities

i have an inherent distrust of 2021 kathryn garcia voters who are switching to cuomo in 2025

i can't lie, i was perfectly okay with sherill winning in NJ, primarily because i can't really hate her and i found a lot of good things within that election (baraka in a strong second, fulop flopping, brennan/bhalla winning) if cuomo wins, i will genuinely be really sad

i will never, ever, ever, ever, ever get cuomo's strength with female voters

something interesting in the marist poll is that it seems like most first-choice cuomo voters simply refuse to engage with the rest of the ranked choice ballot

marist's may poll had cuomo+20, so it's good that mamdani has cut into cuomo's margin by half that said though, if we believe marist that this is the speed at which mamdani is cutting into it, he isn't gonna take the lead by election day

i do think that is a very positive development that mamdani is now up with latinos, as he was previously down with them by quite a bit sadly though, it doesn't seem like there has been much progress on the black voter front

if cuomo does actually get elected, we are legally obligated to clown on the NYC democratic primary electorate for the next four years

Interesting story of coalitions and late momentum for Hashmi in the VA LG vote method breakdown Hashmi came a distant third in VBM, lost the IPEV by a narrower margin to Stoney, but did well enough on Election Day (which made up 60% of total votes) to pull it off

as soon as I posted this Richmond dropped its EV Stoney actually did relatively well, “only” losing it 27-53 to Hashmi There’s a couple thousand EV left out in Chesapeake, where Rouse is getting 63%, and then it’s just crumbs Hashmi prob wins tho it might not get called tonight

Richmond's early vote has come in and unless Stoney pulls off some bullshit in Henrico then Hashmi has likely won

ok I think some of the NYT outstanding vote count estimates are wrong Right now it seems like the single largest source of outstanding votes is the Richmond EV, which is entirely outstanding Makes Hashmi a decent favorite, and I think(!) Rouse finishes second

Andrew Cuomo is bought and paid for by the same Super PACs he once called "dangerous."
