The top rate of income tax was 90% throughout the 1950s-60s, dropping to 75% by the 1970s. Now its 45%. In the early 1980s, corporate tax was 52%, now its 19%. Of course, tax avoidance means even these lower rates aren't paid. Starmer has choices, but he's coming for the poor...
