Someone contacted my husband to see if they could get discounted copies of my book for their reading group. I didn't have any to spare, so I asked my publisher and they were eager to help. All this happened in less than an hour. This is what I like about social media 🙂

My translation of my favourite Kannada drinking song. The poet, G P Rajaratnam, a staunch teetotaler, wrote it in the voice of 'Ratna,' an illiterate man with a deep fondness for three things 'drink, wife, and song' who spouted the deepest philosophies of life in the most rustic of words.

I tried teaching Rhys to say 'beke beku nyaya beku' (Kannada for 'We want justice.') But he kept saying 'bekku beku nayi beku' (we want a dog, we want a cat!) We want to be able to afford a home of our own where we can have a cat and a dog. So, yeah... we want justice 😃
