PUFFS director David Jenkins was musing on his lit of underdog comedies when it hit him he didn't include any TV shows. Had he, Ted Lasso would have topped it, even for a guy who hates lists. "Ted Lasso is maybe the Puffiest Puff to ever Puff." PUFFS begins previews on July 9 at the Straz Center.

"Puffs offers a much-needed exhale. It’s escapist, yes. But it’s also quietly radical in its celebration of community over celebrity, of trying over triumph." www.tbartspassport.com/magic-and-ma...

Wanna come argue me on some of these? Got any to add?

He would like, if he may, to take you on a strange journey ... No, not /that/ strange journey ... On /another/ gloomy night, in a far away, magical land called: England! Matthew McGee leads us through seven years at a certain school of magic and magic. Seven years that were, in one word, eventful!

Speaking of ...

Pro-tips: if instructions are not followed in an audition call, you are likely to meet the discard pile. If you ask a bunch of questions on a post and the answers are in the call, you are likely to meet the discard pile. Not trying to be mean at all, y'all. Read and follow instructions.

@jobsitetheater.bsky.social is serving up a very funny summer show, an unauthorized parody of a certain boy wizard series, PUFFS: Or, Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic. This is looking to be another ROCKY HORROR level event. Prices increase June 11.

What is the deal with the makeup trend where people are making their nose look like an old-timey movie drunk?

Are we going to see you?

Check out @actorkat.bsky.social on ABC 28 and make sure to grab your tickets to see THE BUTTERFLY’S EVIL SPELL before we must close June 1. Discount code in the video: www.abcactionnews.com/morning-blen...

While I’m here I guess: must-do stuff in Bordeaux, FR? We’re only there for a few days but are open to ideas.

If you have recommendations for things in Zaragoza (Saragossa) ES, we'll be there for a few days next week. #spain #travel #zaragoza

Oh, I have a promo code for $20 tix to see the Butterfly play on Fri. night at @strazcenter.bsky.social @jobsitetheater.bsky.social -- lemme know if you want!

Final 3 eps of Andor drop at 6pm. I know what I am doing tonight ...

BUTTERFLY has drawn 2 reactions I'd hoped for. 1 wrote to say it was "a beautiful metaphor for how we experience love and for our lives, almost parallel" and today someone sends a note with "thanks for all you and Jobsite do to help people like me remember what really matters." Never gets old.

I am so fucking ready to bounce out of here for a few weeks. woo lard.

I've referenced this article a number of times in the past few weeks, both in general and when it comes to the specific trouble of offering something surreal/symbolic like THE BUTTERFLY'S EVIL SPELL. www.newyorker.com/culture/crit...

"sometimes, Bill, you need to do things because it's the art you want to do ... this is the art we want to do and I pray, and I hope, that there are enough people out there paying attention that come see it."

Sometimes I say shit in the middle of an interview and wonder how I've kept my position this many years. #WhenKeepingItRealGoesWrong

In a world of bad news, this does not suck. Still time to get in on helping us protect the 25/26 season: www.jobsitetheater.org/join-our-giv...

Every $1 really matters with these matching funds on a day like today!

It's rare to have the chance to do something like anymore, and I know it'll be a few years at least before we'll ever be able to take the risk again. Come check it out while you have a chance? $15 tickets May 7 with the code POPPY.

This thing we have coming up next is really worthy of your attention. We knew it was going to be the "riskiest" thing we offered all season since it's not exactly a household brand-name kinda show, but this might be one of the most unique things you've seen on stage.

Troy just coming out of the gate killing it for this PUFFS promo shoot. 😂

My dog farted so loud at the vet today that the tech who had her back to us in that moment looked super sus when I blamed it on her.

Whether you believe Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah, a prophet, a philosopher, or just a proto-Reform rabbi, there's one thing for which there's consensus within academic history scholarship: that he died by crucifixion for challenging the authority of the government. Worth thinking about today.
