So when does JFK Jr. emerge and assume the presidency? Is that still a thing?

It's 'put the air conditioner back into the window' degrees here.

Lawn flowers. Nearly complimentary colors, and free. Bonus: no 2,4-D.

Today MAGA conservatives unironically celebrate the rebirth of someone who taught compassion to the poor and kindness to strangers

Voting on my absentee ballot here in red state Ohio: there's state bonds for infrastructure, a municipal income tax and a school levy. These did poorly before Trump, but now is different: Red voters LOVE taxes as long as the rich aren't impacted (even if you have to call them tariffs). They'll pass

$23 bag of coffee beans is now $35 because we're pwning the Chinese, or something.

Received my absentee ballot for the May election which for my area is levy issues.

Can a Keyboard Interlock Device like those car breathalyzers be installed on Hegseth's computer?

Looking forward to this year's mandatory OPSEC refresher course. I need clarification about when posting classified info in group chats, do I then say "It wasn't classified" and follow up with "Everyone makes mistakes, let's just move on."

Star Trek ideals: The Federation, Klingons, and Romulans can come together peacefully and better a society that has eliminated poverty and hunger and values collectivism and knowledge.. Star Trek Games: You're the Captain and your assignment is to kill, kill, kill!

So Trump can read. Big if true.

It's just about tomato seed starting time. They surely can't take that away.

So the clock says 11 PM but it's actually 10, however I'm tired like it's midnight. I's doing DST wrong.

Movie & a Meal was Battle Angle Alita (2019, dir. Robert Rodriguez), and pork chops (plus a freshly baked loaf of bread).

Listening to one of the lot of LPs that I ordered off eBay. It took two weeks to arrive as the USPS was bouncing it between Massachusetts and Indiana a couple times prior to arriving. First up is Franz Schmidt Organ Works, Kurt Rapf organist, MHS 3767, recorded in the early seventies.

A few moments of Senior Confusion this morning as I checked my phone time before napping then woke up to read an un-DST-adjusted wall clock. "I napped 10 minutes? That seemed like an hour!"

Airing the house out for a few hours. Feels nice.

Trump's face on a new $250 U.S. bill? Won't happen. He'll demand it be a $1000 bill.

Half of today's eggs

After a couple harsh cold snaps, west central Ohio is 15 degrees - upper fifties - and it feels incredible.

Movie & a Meal was Strictly Ballroom (1992, dir. Baz Luhrmann), and Chinese take out.

Made it to Friday, so I bought a treat: Lot of 25 classical vinyl albums from eBay. Used and with scratches, but with full liner notes and even jotted notations. If a track is particularly scratchy, it was very meaningful to the previous owner and I listen more carefully.

Sunday's Movie & a Meal was Paint Your Wagon (1969, dir. Joshua Logan), and chicken pot pie.

Son and I went to an international market yesterday and he purchased an expensive ($14 for < half pound) piece of Red Leicester cheese. I'm devastated that I tried a piece this morning and it was SUPER DELICIOUS. Reminded me of a very sharp cheddar with a savory port wine cheese aftertaste.

Status: Starting to begin to proceeding to consider retirement.

Why is the richest man in the world cutting cancer research?

Currently in west central Ohio

My oldest turns 30 today!

Recliner buddies: Page (grey tiger) and Lisa (b/w)

Nice dinner courtesy of my daughter, now the Pittsburgh Symphony with Brahms (violin concerto in D maj) and Schumann (Sym. 2).

Made veg biryani using the yogurt I made Sunday, good except need to drain the rice a little better next time. Used a commercial spice mix. I should be able to make my own biryani masala soon. Also made naan and used the remainder of the yogurt for raita. All pretty good but room to improve.

At this time of 62 years on earth with over half of those married (to the same woman as dad used to say), I hinted I like cheese better than chocolate in case anyone was buying any food items to commemorate Friday. I'm grateful for whatever I get but some gouda just hits better than Hershey's.

My take, essentially, is that we could be weeks or maybe even days away from the disintegration of the rule of federal law in this country. At some point this administration is going to stop obeying court orders. What then? Nothing good.

about 1 liter of yogurt draining through cheesecloth in the fridge. Goal: Make some veg biryani and raita for dinner Tuesday.

My favorite thing I'm moving from Meta to here: My weekly family-shared movie and dinner. Movie & a Meal: Rainmaker (1997, dir. Francis Ford Coppola), and rib tips.
