Hold my beer, @thedailyshow.com:‬ I wrote an in-depth analysis of two prime arguments pushing for a US attack on Iran: one, that Iran is close to having nukes, and two, that the Iranian people are eager for regime change. Oh yeah, I did this reporting... 22 years ago 👉 www.salon.com/2003/07/10/n...

The Constitution says that, if the president vetos a bill, Congress gets to try to override that veto. If the presidency can veto any law on the books, passed at any time, with no possibility of override, the entire Article I lawmaking process is mute—merely a non-binding suggestion.

I suppose ‘major anomaly’ is another way to say massive explosion… but “safe” is absolutely not a verb and no one should trust a corporation that says it’s “safing” anything

objectively funny, you might say, watching Grok shred Elon’s BS take

Grok’s going to get one of Musk’s updates again. Can’t wait to see what conspiracy theory it just repeats nonstop this time.

not to mention that war on Iran helps take focus off his imperiled legislative agenda and increasingly ugly domestic war on hardworking non-criminal immigrants

AG Pam Bondi says "the horrific targeted murders" of Minnesota lawmakers "shocked the nation and united us in grief." Maybe she should also comment on Sen. I disagree with this premise. Yes, we’re in a time of heightened political violence, and it’s important to scrutinize why. But there’s nothing “routine” about assassinations or school shootings. I’ve long reported on these and know many working to stop them. This is not a premise we should accept.

Mike Lee knew exactly what poison lies he was spreading about the murders in Minnesota and he should resign in disgrace www.nytimes.com/2025/06/16/u...

1/Alleged Minnesota assassin attended a Bible college that is a stronghold of the Christian Nationalist movement called the New Apostolic Reformation, where some leaders of Stop the Steal and Theobros also went. @kieraevebutler.bsky.social has the details: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Speaking of long podcasts, did this deep dive recently with Jordan Harbinger. We talked about Trigger Points, my two-year investigation "Lessons From a Mass Shooter's Mother," and much more — including why I see my longterm work on this subject as fundamentally hopeful. youtu.be/uwLY4Zp9-GU?...

I think this points up some of the failures of coverage of Trump's lawlessness: You could've read dozens of articles on Trump's tariff policy with no inkling of how unprecedented & legally dubious was the legal authority he claimed to impose them. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/28/b...

Trump is losing big time in the federal courts. He is also trying to corrupt and weaken that coequal branch of the U.S. government through stalling tactics, threats, and whitewashing of serious crimes.
