@takeflightwnba.bsky.social Conclusion: Paige is good and everybody knows it. Teams will stop her if possible. Without Paige in the shooting mix, can score, but still lose. Dallas has to move the ball around more and get it back to Paige more often. Others have to score too. Defend the lane!!!

@takeflightwnba.bsky.social CHI got serious to shut down Paige. On jump ball, Cardoso chased Paige around. She's that much of a threat!!! Good plays with plays typically running from Paige to Myisha to Rike. Game tied 89-89 with 2:20 left. CHI late game strategy in the lane won, just like MINN.

@takeflightwnba.bsky.social Qtr3 When Dallas took the lead there were turnovers and misses, but the qtr ended 73-68. Qtr4 Turnover, Paige OVER CARDOSO. Paige goes out at 8:30 and the lead is 77-74. Turnover, Paige long 3. CHI puts Rebecca Allen on Paige (she's taller). 82-79 at 5:00 left. more

@takeflightwnba.bsky.social Qtr1 Paige wasn't involved much in scoring. When she was, we scored about 67% of the time. Qtr2 In from 7:56, it went very well. This time the success rate was even higher, with Rike and Paige scoring a lot on simple plays. Qtr3 Good until Dallas took the lead. more

@takeflightwnba.bsky.social I looked at the game again to analyze ball movement and success/failures. First, when Paige went down the line, they put Cardoso out on her. That's serious defense. After Paige had the ball, it didn't come back to her much in the entire game. more

@dallaswingswnba.bsky.social Dallas didn't run enough plays with P shooting. She only had 15 pts. 21 and Dallas wins. Nobody else could score a lot, so it devolved to R, and she scored a lot, but not enough. It was last year's Dallas pattern again, and that's a loser. All-in-all, Dallas was bad.

@dallaswingswnba.bsky.social Watching Chicago against Phoenix, it seems their strategy is to shoot 3s early, then at some point, switch to shooting near the rim. Guarding their shooters closely without fouling will be key, then fighting physically for rebounds while blocking out Cardoso.

@dallaswingswnba.bsky.social Though, when Suns forced the ball to R, that went well too. The pace of the game was good. Rebounding was a bit weak. Luisa has to learn the W tricks of the trade. Nice win!!!!!

@dallaswingswnba.bsky.social Vs Conn Sun: The style of play was good. The shooting was much better, though there were still a few short periods where it was bad. Kaila continues to improve, though near the end she needlessly fouled (probably tired or lost focus). Best was when P led plays. more
